BOOK BLITZ - REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: THREE DAY FIANCEE by MARISSA CLARKE

Three Day Fiancée
Animal Attraction #2

By Marissa Clarke
Published by: Entangled: Lovestruck
Publication date: May 14th 2018
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

“Some things can’t be faked…”
Helicopter pilot Taylor Blankenship’s time schedule is maxed out. Between his job, his one hundred and fifty-pound slobbering mess of a dog, and his matchmaking grandmother, he has no time for anyone or anything-especially a woman. If only there were a way to get Grams to back down.
The job of New York City dog walker suits Caitlin Ramos perfectly while she preps for her CPA exam—steady, scheduled, and requiring very little human interaction; a huge seller since she’s still on the mend from a toxic relationship. Men suck. Especially her bossy hot client with the Saint Bernard that thinks it’s a lap dog. No way will she go for his plan to pretend they’re engaged to get his grandmother off his case. Down, boy.
Offered a bargain she can’t refuse, Caitlin finds herself playing the part of fiancée to Taylor. Fortunately, it’s only for three days. All she has to do is fake a relationship with Mr. Bossy Pants in front of his entire family, survive a fierce game of truth or dare with an unscrupulous pair of octogenarians, endure a one-on-one round of Twister with Taylor, and not lose her heart to a guy who turns out to be a lot more than she’d bargained for.

In Three Day Fiancee (Animal Attraction #2) by Marissa Clarke, Taylor Blankenship is a desperate man and needs Caitlin Ramos's help. Luckily, she gives him the perfect opportunity to convince her to be his fake fiancée when his grandmother discovers a certain ring in her possession. Will Taylor be able to convince Caitlin to give him a real chance, or is their fake relationship all they'll have?

Having absolutely loved the first book of this series, I couldn't wait to read more about the women of Animal Attraction and I've got to say that Ms. Clarke does not disappoint. Right from the beginning, this story was very entertaining due to what the hero wants the heroine to do and how he convinces the heroine to be his fake fiancée. How could he disappoint his grandmother when she wants him to find love and happiness?

As for the dialogue, it was a wonderful combination of intense moments due to the main characters back stories and playful banter that had me loving the tight bond the hero shares with his family and the powerful chemistry between the hero and heroine. Really, they're so good together. Moreover, the heroine was strong and brave for giving the hero a chance, even though she's not interested in a relationship after what happened with her ex. I also liked how she fit in with the hero's family and that they were so warm and welcoming because they realize Caitlin is the real deal for Taylor, even if he doesn't realize it until it's almost too late. While the hero, I loved him so much, especially when he's around his family who are a lot of fun and aren't afraid to get a little competitive with each other. I also liked how confident the hero was and how determined he is to win the heroine over, especially in the beginning because he needs her.

Overall, Ms. Clarke has delivered a charming and absolutely riveting read in this second book of her Animal Attraction series where the chemistry between Taylor and Caitlin was intense; the romance delightful because these two don't want a relationship, and yet, they find themselves falling for each other; and the ending had me loving how determined the secondary characters were to see Taylor and Caitlin get their happy ever after. However, it was the words Taylor says to Caitlin to prove he wants a forever relationship with her that I loved the most. Then there's the epilogue that wrapped this story up perfectly because Taylor's family are wonderful and I loved that he would ask such an important question in front of them all. I would recommend Three Day Fiancee by Marissa Clarke, if you enjoy the fake relationship trope or books by authors Melanie Shawn, Melia Alexander, Tawna Fenske and Erin Nicholas.

BOOK BLITZ: FORGED IN EMBER by TRISH MCCALLAN

Forged in Ember
Trish McCallan
(Red-Hot SEALs #4)
Publication date: May 15th 2018
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense

In the final novel in the scorching Red-Hot SEALs series, a desperate mother and a Navy SEAL fight fire with fire to protect their love and save the world…
Amy Chastain has made a lot of enemies—none so ruthless as the insanely powerful New Ruling Order (NRO). When they killed her husband, it was hell. Then they targeted her children by injecting them with a dangerous, experimental isotope. Now Amy trusts only one man to help her: the ex-commander of SEAL Team 7.
In the company of Navy SEALs, Jace “Mac” Mackenzie was in his physical element. Now he’s on the run from the same cabal that poisoned Amy’s children. That doesn’t stop him from launching a mission to bring down the NRO—and find an antidote. But the clock is ticking. And as the sparks fly between him and Amy, Mac realizes he has more to lose than ever before.
As Mac closes in on the NRO, he uncovers a plot that threatens more than Amy’s children. Now it’s a race against time to stop a global conspiracy, save the woman he loves, and protect the family that’s starting to feel like his.

“You can talk to him after you’ve eaten, Benji. Now skedaddle.” She waited for Brendan to herd his brother across the cafeteria floor before turning a suddenly grave face in Mac’s direction. “The boys’ doctor asked to see Amy in private, and I suspect the news is less than good. Nobody should have to face something like that alone, but she needed help with the boys, so I couldn’t stay.”

Ah hell . . . Stiffening, Mac took a step back. “Beth or Kait—”

“Aren’t here. You are. The meeting with the doctor will be over by the time I find them. Amy needs someone now.”

Mac took another step back. “I’m sure Mrs. Chastain would prefer to have a woman with her.”

“The only woman available is me, and I promised her I’d take care of her children. Trust me, she’d be much more comfortable with me watching over her boys than holding her hand. Which means you’re currently the only person available to step up.” She leaned toward him, a militant look sheening her gaze.
Fuck.

“She’s at the clinic, Commander. Alone. She needs you.” The resolve shifted to entreaty in her eyes and voice.

Double fuck.

He spread his feet and tensed his muscles, powering up for an uncompromising refusal. No way in hell was he taking on Amy Chastain’s troubles.

“Fine.” The surrender grated as it rumbled up his throat and out his mouth.

Where the hell had that come from?

Mac scowled, regrouping. Time to nip this in the bud and retreat to safety. “Look, I’ll check in on her. That’s all I’m promising.”

He groaned beneath his breath. Agreeing to check up on the damn woman wasn’t exactly retreating.

Marion’s expression softened in relief. “I’m sure she’ll appreciate that, Commander.”

Grunting an acknowledgment, Mac brushed past Marion before she talked him into doing anything else. Of course, just because he’d agreed to check on Amy didn’t mean he had to do so. It would be easy enough to skirt that duty by heading in the opposite direction. Except his feet developed a mind of their own and carried him two streets to the right and through the clinic’s sliding glass doors.

In Want You More (Mile High Romance #3) by Nicole Helm, Will Evans and Tori Appleby were best friends until Tori told Will she was in love with him. Both went their separate ways with Will marrying someone else and Tori leaving town, but now she's back and they're working together. Will Tori and Will ever be able to get their friendship back to where it was, or will the pair walk away from their shot at happy ever after?

What a fascinating read Ms. Helm has delivered in this book in the way it was filled with plenty of tension between the characters; the dialogue was a delightful combination of intense moments and moments that amused me due to the heroine's attempts to take a walk down memory lane with the hero that just gets him more and more riled up, which in turn had me smiling because his life needed the good shake up the heroine gives it. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time in this book where this story really took off for me, as this pair have quite the history and it's hard to forget how much they hurt each other. Will they ever be able to move forward with their lives, if they don't talk about what happened years ago?

Both the main characters were enjoyable and I loved the way the heroine wasn't afraid to push the hero to talk about what went wrong between them, as they both need to forgive and forget to be able to completely move forward and hopefully get their friendship back to how it was or make it something more. I also liked how resilient and courageous the heroine was in being able to talk about her past, which was filled with heartache because of what her family put her through and making her feel like she wasn't important. While the hero, he's been through a lot and it's understandable why he feels he's not good enough for the heroine, especially after the way his ex-wife and his mother treated him. Will he ever feel like he's good enough? I also liked the tight bond he shared with his siblings and that they would do anything to help him through the tough times he's been through, even if it means pushing him to face the past. Yet, what I liked most of all about Will is the decisions he makes, especially when it comes to making things right with the heroine and making sure that she stays in his life.

Overall, Ms. Helm has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was delightful and the ending had me liking the words the hero says to the heroine to make her believe that he loves her and wants her in his life forever. I would recommend Want You More by Nicole Helm, if you enjoy the friends to lovers trope, second chance romances or books by authors Catherine Anderson, Kate Pierce, Shannon Stacey and Ruth Cardello.

BOOK BLITZ - REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: DARK JUSTICE: MORGAN by JENNA RYAN

Dark Justice: Morgan
Dark Justice #1
By Jenna Ryan
Releasing October 23rd 2017
Entangled Publishing

In Dark Justice: Morgan (Dark Justice #1) by Jenna Ryan, Amber Kelly and her sister entered the witness protect program after Amber agreed to help the FBI bring down Owen Fixx, the ruthless weapons and drug dealer her sister was married to. But when her sister, Rachel, leaves the safety of the witness protect program, Amber finds herself with a target on her head. Luckily, Gage Morgan comes to her rescue before anything too sinister can happen to her. Yet, with the danger closing in and Amber not knowing what's happening with her sister, will Gage be able to keep her safe or will Amber find herself in the hands of those wanting to end her life and lose her chance at happy ever after with Gage?

What a wild and thrilling ride Ms. Ryan takes readers on in this first book of her Dark Justice series where the main characters need to stay one step ahead of the bad guys, if they're to get their happy ever after. The way this story started with prologue sets the fast pace of this story with Amber having to deal with her sister in hopes of keeping the two of them safe. Will Amber be capable of getting them out of the trouble they find themselves in? However, it was from the moment that Morgan and Amber come face-to-face for the first time in this story that had me amused by Amber's courage and her determination to stand up for herself in case Gage turns out to be a bad guy. Will Gage be able to win the heroine over and prove that he's one of the good guys?

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories and the actions and ruthlessness of the bad guys to get to Amber. Truly, there were a few spine-tingling moments and a lot of edge-of-your-seat moments that made this story a total page turner and had me hooked, as there are some close calls with the bad guys. Will Gage be able to keep Amber safe? How are the bad guys continually finding them? Moreover, I loved whenever the hero and heroine conversed, as the heroine challenges him, especially when it comes to his past and why he does what he does and is no longer a cop. What is so bad in his past that he doesn't like to talk about?

Both the main characters were charismatic and well-developed, and so were the secondary characters, even though I thought Amber's sister was selfish, naïve and flighty. At times, I couldn't understand why Amber cared so much about Rachel when there was no way her sister would go to the lengths the heroine was going for her. Furthermore, the heroine is resilient, courageous and I liked how determined she was to get her sister back, even knowing her sister was probably being used as bait. I also liked how much of a challenge the heroine provided the hero when it came to protecting her and that she was just as protective of Gage. No way could she walk away if there was trouble.  While the hero, he finds it hard to trust after being betrayed in the past, yet he's good at what he does, and I liked how far he was willing to go to keep the heroine safe. I also liked how confident he was in his skills and that he handled everything thrown his way including the betrayal of those he thought he could trust.

Overall, Ms. Ryan has delivered an enthralling and action-packed read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was intense and the ending had me concerned for the main characters as they face off against the bad guys. Will they come out on top? Will Owen Fixx finally get taken down? However, what I liked most of all about the ending is how things worked out for Gage and Amber. Finally, he's found a woman he can trust completely. Yet, it was the epilogue that left me looking forward to more of this series. What will happen next for Morgan, Amber and Rachel? I would recommend Dark Justice: Morgan by Jenna Ryan, if you enjoy romantic suspense; the sexy protector trope; or books by authors Kimberly Kincaid, Scarlett Cole, Kaylea Cross and Rebecca Yarros.

After attempting to help the FBI expose a ruthless weapons and drug dealer, Owen Fixx, Amber Kelly enters the Witness Protection Program. Unfortunately, her sister, who was once married to said drug dealer, is forced to join her—key word, forced. When Rachel grows tired of their new life and runs off with a local man, a nightmare ensues for Amber.

The only person who can help her is Gage Morgan, an edgy former police officer. The mysterious and compelling Gage must convince Amber that he is not only on her side, but he is also her best bet to stay alive.

Amber wants her sister back. What she doesn’t want is to be attracted to her sexy new protector. But in the haunted Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, desire trumps logic. And it leaves a smoldering trail for Fixx’s gunmen to follow.

Amber felt her inner feline rising and offered him a slow smile. “Do I look like a princess to you?”
“No, you’re a siren. Beautiful, dangerous, and scary as hell to any man with functioning genitalia.”
Her smile faded. “That light behind us is creeping closer.”
“Road’s improving.”
“Not that I’ve noticed.” Amber turned in her seat and almost bit her tongue off when the front tires struck a rock.
“Can we lose him?”
“Oh, we can do a lot better than that.” Reaching back, he grabbed her pack and dropped it in her lap. “We’re on a high point of land. Narrow road, no guardrails. There’s a canyon on our left. I’m going to slow down at the next bend. When I tell you to jump, tuck and roll. When you stop, head for the trees. Take this.” He handed her what looked like a small cell phone. “It’s a comm link. It has a one-mile radius. Keep it switched on, and I’ll find you.”
Never in her life could Amber recall having so many instructions fired at her in under fifteen seconds. “Are you sure—” she began.
But he cut her off with a firm, This is as slow as it gets, Snowbird. Go. Now.”
It must have been his tone. Either that, or she’d gone as crazy as he obviously was. Amber grabbed the link and her pack, shoved the door open, and jumped.
Her martial arts classes had taught her how to fall without injuring herself. However, when she factored in the momentum of a moving vehicle, everything she’d learned about a safe landing flew from her head. She hit hard, tumbled, and wound up on her stomach with her face buried in a patch of wet leaves.
“Ouch,” she mumbled.
She struggled to slow her spinning mind as she rolled over. A series of crashes reached her from the road ahead. The sound penetrated her mental haze. It also got her moving.
Head for the trees, Gage had said. Which trees? There were an awful lot of them on this side of the road.
Working herself into a crouch, Amber switched on the link and waited for the light to blink green. When it did, she zipped it inside her pocket, hoisted her pack, and struck out for the woods.
She heard a final crunch of metal on rock and knew exactly what Gage had done. He’d shot his truck over the edge of the cliff into a fathomless canyon where no one in their right mind would dare venture at night. If there happened to be a lake at the bottom, so much the better.
How long would the diversion last, Amber wondered as she ran. Two or three hours? Until morning?
A horrible thought suddenly occurred to her. Halting, she spun to look back. Gage’s truck had gone into the canyon. But what if it hadn’t been empty when it left the road?

Jenna Ryan was born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, but spent her childhood in several different areas of the country. She began creating stories before she could read. Growing up, romance alone had a strong appeal, but as it turned out, romantic suspense was the perfect fit. After all, what could be better than adding the darker elements of a mystery to a romantic relationship? And, oh, the fun of those secondary characters. Over the years, she has worked in several different industries, including modeling, interior design and travel, however, writing has always been her passion - even if she didn't go about it in the usual way. She earned a degree in Creative Writing from the University of Victoria in British Columbia and currently lives in a semi-rural setting fifteen minutes from that city.

BOOK BLITZ & GIVEAWAY: THIS BABY BUSINESS by HEATHERLY BELL

This Baby Business
Heatherly Bell
(Heroes of Fortune Valley)
Published by: Harlequin
Publication date: October 1st 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Strictly business…or is it?
Air force pilot Levi Lambert has seen plenty of danger—but his infant daughter might be the death of him. Fortunately, Levi’s found the answer to his sleep-deprived prayers: his next-door neighbor!
Carly Gilmore is willing to be his nanny…until a small white lie turns their arrangement from business to very personal. The fake engagement was intended to keep Levi from losing custody of his baby girl, but is causing all sorts of new problems. Not only does Carly attract trouble like bees to honey, but there’s the little matter of Levi’s smokin’-hot attraction to her. The last thing he needs is to fall in love…

How exactly did he manage to look like sex on a stick at the end of a long day? He had this whole badass look going on, late-afternoon scruffiness over his jawline, making her want to rub against him like a cat.
Bad, bad Carly. “I wanted to talk to you about something anyway.”
“Oh, yeah. I haven’t had a whole lot of luck finding another sitter. I’ll make a few calls tonight.” He followed her into the family room.
“That’s not it. I need a favor.”
“Done.”
“You don’t even know what it is yet.”
He gave her an easy smile. “Doesn’t matter.”
“Be careful, Levi Lambert. You never know what I might ask.”
“Bring it on.” His eyes filled with obvious male appreciation.
She was reminded of her bare legs. The look he slid her was so full of heat that she thought her panties might spontaneously burst into flames. Focus, Carly, focus.
“I want to put photos of Grace on my website. I took some cute ones today.” She took her phone out and showed them to him. Shots of Grace staring with delight at a tree as if she’d just discovered them. Smiling as she watched a child playing ball, staring wide-eyed at a woman walking her poodle down the street.
“You took her to the park. She loves it there.” Levi didn’t take the phone from her, but instead held her wrist and brought the phone up closer.
Her stupid wrist tingled as if it thought it might be about to have a good time. She cleared her throat. “I know. Just look at this one. I think she noticed a cloud for the first time.”
He grinned, still holding her wrist. “Nah, she saw one last week.”
“Right. So…is it okay if I put her photos up? She’s an adorable baby.”
“Fine with me.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll never share her real name with my readers. And no one has any idea that the company is based in Fortune. My mother took great precautions to protect our privacy.”
“I trust you.” His big, rough hand slid from her wrist to her elbow, and the tingle traveled.
“Thank you.” She stared at his lips, willing him to kiss her. “The trust is…important.”
“Extremely.”
That talented hand now settled on her waist and pulled her closer. And somehow her hands were squeezing his biceps and she went up on the balls of her feet to get closer still. He kissed her long and deep, his hot, wet tongue insistent. It got wild and crazy as her hands fisted his shirt and his hands palmed her ass.
“Levi.” She broke off from the kiss, breathless. “We probably shouldn’t do this. It’s not…a good idea.”
He pressed his forehead to hers. “You’re right.”
Great. He agreed with her. “It’s stupid.”
“Yeah.” He tugged her in tighter and kissed her again. And again.
She threaded her fingers through his hair and moaned into his mouth.
And they continued to be crazy stupid for the next hour.
