RELEASE BLITZ - THE RIGHT STUD by ILSA MADDEN-MILLS & TIA LOUISE

The Right Stud
By Ilsa Madden-Mills & Tia Louise
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: June 4, 2018

Blurb

Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills and USA Today bestselling author Tia Louise are back with an all-new romantic comedy filled with Southern sass and steamy scenes that will have you laughing out loud and fanning yourself. Pour the sweet tea and get ready…

“The best way to get over your sh**ty ex-fiancé is to get under a shiny new stud…”

As soon as Mr. Tall, Blond, and Handsome walks into that bar, I know he’s the hook-up I need to get over stupid Cheater Kyle.

A few stolen kisses in a dark hallway, and I’m pretty sure we’re headed for a home run—until he disappears without a trace.

Whatever. Men are all snakes in the grass, and I don’t need a new one anyway.

I resolve to forget about his perfect lips (and chest of steel) and instead focus on turning my Granny’s old beach house into a profitable B&B.

What I don’t expect is for him to show up the next day in my kitchen!

You see, my sexy mystery man is none other than Jax Roland, the drop-dead gorgeous home improvement star of The Right Stud, and he’s got an offer I can’t refuse.

With a suitcase in one hand and a hammer in the other, he wants to move in and renovate my old house while he films his new show.

But my roommate has secrets, and they threaten to rip our blossoming friendship—and possible love—apart.

When push comes to shove, is Jax really The Right Stud or is he just another nail in the coffin of love?

In The Right Stud by Ilsa Madden-Mills & Tia Louise, Ashton is over men, especially after discovering her fiancé was cheating on her. However, with a little encouragement from her best friend, she decides to go out and hopefully have some fun. Meeting Jax Roland promises to be a night she won't forget until he disappears and doesn't return like he promised. But when she finds he's her new guest and the star of the home improvement show she contacted to renovate her house, she decides keeping her distance from him is best. Yet, Jax isn't about to let that happen. Not when there's so much chemistry bouncing between them. Will Ashton be able to put her trust in another man again or will Jax's secrets ruin any chance they have at happy ever after?

What a fun and captivating read Ms. Mills and Ms. Louise have delivered in this book that had me laughing and smiling throughout and where the main characters entertained me from the start to finish; the secondary characters were just as entertaining as the main ones; and the dialogue had me enjoying the growing relationship between Jax and Ashton, their back stories and everything they go through on their journey to happy ever after, especially the moment their relationship goes awry. The way this story started had me liking the heroine immediately, as she's brave in doing what she's doing. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine meet where things get very interesting, as Jax is interested, but has his reasons for disappearing. Will Ashton be able to trust Jax?

With the main characters, the heroine is resilient, stubborn and I liked how determined she was to open a B&B as long as she can get the house renovated and ready to accept guests. I also liked the tight friendship she shares with her best friend because her friend is encouraging and wants her to be happy and could also really help her when it comes to the issues she's facing with her brother who is more interested in money than supporting his sister's dreams. While the hero, he's confident, hard-working and I liked how determined he was to win over the heroine, especially since the first time they met didn't work out quite as he'd hoped. However, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him because coming back to South Carolina isn't easy for him. Luckily, Ashton -- at least -- make things better, but Jax has secrets that made me feel sorry for the heroine because there was no way the truth wasn't going to come out. Will she be able to forgive him?

Overall, these two authors have penned a really good read in this book where emotions run high, the chemistry between this couple was powerful; the romance was hot and shows how good these two are together; and the ending had me crying happy tears because of the news the pair receive and because these two are so deserving of their happy ever after that they shouldn't let anything keep them apart. I would recommend The Right Stud by Isla Madden-Mills and Tia Louise, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope, the mysterious strangers trope or books by authors K. Bromberg, Melanie Harlow, Vi Keeland and Corinne Michaels.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ - REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: CAN'T FORGET YOU by RACHEL LACEY

Can't Forget You
Risking It All #3
By Rachel Lacey
Releasing December 19th, 2017
Forever

In Can't Forget You (Risking It All #3) by Rachel Lacey, Jessica Flynn is looking to expand her spa and now that the land next door is up for sale, she'll do anything to buy it. But when things happen and she finds herself competing with her ex for the unspoiled piece of land, it seems the only way they'll both get what they want is to join forces and buy it together. However, Jessica never imagined she'd fall for Mark Dalton all over again. Will Mark and Jessica get their second chance at forever after, or will Mark break her heart all over again?

What a wonderful and very engaging second chance romance Ms. Lacey has delivered in this third book of her Risking it All series where the main characters have never gotten over each other and definitely need to find their way back to the other; the dialogue was intense due to the main characters back stories and the obstacles these two face to be together again; and the secondary characters had me enjoying the tight friendship they share with either the hero and heroine and how determined they were to see both happy. Will Mark and Jessica get their second chance at happiness?

Both the main characters were riveting and I loved the moments the hero and heroine interacted, especially since the heroine challenges the hero to lose control during their very intimate moments. Will Jessica get her wish for Mark to lose control? Moreover, the heroine goes through a lot in this story with what's happening to her in terms of her health and I liked how Mark was there for her every step of the way. I also liked how hard-working she is and that even though Mark broke her heart in the past, I liked that she was willing to give him another chance. While the hero, he's been through a lot in his past and I felt sorry for him when it comes to being reunited with someone he'd rather forget but needs to forgive to be completely happy in life. I also liked how hard-working the hero was and how determined he was to earn the heroine's forgiveness because of what happened between them in the past. How could he have left the way he did, especially with the way he blindsided the heroine? Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero is that he opened up to the heroine about his past before he lost the heroine for good.

Overall, Ms. Lacey has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance full of exquisite heat and passion; and the ending had me loving how determined the hero was to win back the heroine, even if it meant facing his past. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up nicely, because this couple deserve their second chance at happiness after all they've been through. I would recommend Can't Forget You by Rachel Lacey, if you enjoy second chance romances or books by authors Rachel Gibson, Sarah Richardson, Katie Lane and Miranda Liasson.

YOU NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST LOVE

Jessica Flynn can't wait to buy up that patch of unspoiled North Carolina woodland next door and expand her spa. What could be more sensuous than a hot-tub soak under the stars? Jessica would love to bask in the romantic view herself-but first she needs to find the right man to join her in this fantasy. Back in high school, she thought that was the dark and brooding Mark Dalton. But then he left to join the Special Forces, and when he returned to town, it felt like their teenage love affair had never even happened.

Mark Dalton has his eye on the same property for his own business. Yet there's something he wants to have even more. Because Jessica is sweeter than he remembered, and he's finding it hard to resist his attraction to the competition. When they finally find themselves alone, deep in the forest, nature can't help but run a little wild. But if she ever finds out what he's been hiding all these years, she may never forgive him...

“You approve?”

Stifling a yelp, she whirled to find Mark behind her, a brown dog at his side. It really was unfair that he could move so quietly. “Yes, but . . . did you get a dog?”

He glanced down at the mutt standing at attention be- side him. “Nah. Found her.”

“Really? Out here?” Jessica stepped closer, holding out a hand toward the dog, who eyed her warily, never budging from Mark’s side.

“Yeah. I’ll drop her by the shelter when I leave.”

“Hi, girl.” Jessica crouched down, talking to the dog. “How’d you wind up out here?”

The dog icked her ears forward and took a step in Jessica’s direction. She was fairly large, with brown fur that was matted in places and adorable, fluffy ears. After a little coaxing, she walked over and licked Jessica’s hand.

“Maybe you should keep her,” she said to Mark. “At least while you look for her family. She’s too sweet to go to the shelter.”

He grunted, gazing down at the dog.

Jessica stroked behind the dog’s ears. “You know what happens to strays at the shelter who don’t find a home, right?”

Mark said nothing.

For some reason, she wanted him to keep this dog.

Maybe it would be good for him to have someone at home to greet him. “You don’t want her to be euthanized, do you? She seems so quiet and well behaved.”

“Which means she probably has a family out there looking for her.”

“And you should definitely let the shelter know you’ve found her. I think they can even scan her for a microchip. Up to you whether you leave her there.” She winked at him.

He said nothing.
The dog really was a sweet thing. She licked Jessica’s fingers, her tail wagging shyly, and then returned to Mark’s side, looking for all the world like she was waiting for her next command. When he started walking, she followed right at his heel.
So did Jessica. They walked together in easy silence, following the string of orange ags he had placed on the ground. He’d been busy today and also true to his word. His flags were well away from the area she wanted for her cabins
She couldn’t help smiling every time she glanced at the dog by his side. The pooch clearly already viewed Mark as her master. It was easy to see why. He moved with a quiet confidence that obviously set her at ease. Not sure which way to go? Just follow Mark.

Jessica was so busy doing just that that she didn’t even see the hole in front of her until she’d stepped in it. Thrown off balance, she groped blindly for something to hang on to, her fingers latching on to Mark’s arm. He turned in surprise and grabbed her before she went down in a heap.

His hands gripped her arms, warm and strong, his eyes locked on hers. “You okay?”

She nodded because her heart was pounding so hard she didn’t trust herself to speak. There was so much electricity in the air between them that her whole body sizzled with it. Her stumble had landed her close in his arms, so close that, each time she drew breath, the space between them seemed to shrink.
His gaze dropped from her eyes to her lips.

He’s going to kiss me!
Her blood heated, and her lips parted, and...what the hell was she thinking? Grabbing on to the last glimmer of reason in her brain, she stepped backward out of his arms. Pain knifed up her left leg, and it folded beneath her, dropping her in a heap onto the forest floor.

The air left her lungs so fast she felt dazed, sitting there, staring at Mark’s boots. Then the dog was there, nuzzling her cheek, tail wagging.

Mark crouched in front of her. “What’s wrong? Are you hurt?”

Not wanting to get lost in his eyes again, she looked down at her left knee, which, now that she was no longer drunk with lust, hurt like a son of a bitch. “I think I twisted my knee.”

“Let me have a look.” He straightened her leg out against the bed of pine needles and gently felt her knee through her jeans.

She winced. “It’s been bothering me off and on for a few weeks. I don’t know what I did to it.”

“You have it checked out?”

“No.” She sighed. Dammit, she hated going to the doc-tor. Maybe because, having a nurse for a mother, she’d spent way too much time around hospitals as a kid. “I guess I should though. I thought it was finally better.”

She accepted the hand he held out and pushed to her feet, putting all her weight on her right foot. Her left knee throbbed. She could feel the heat radiating out of it. Son of a bitch.

“You able to walk on it?”

“Of course.” She took a halting step, biting her tongue to hold back a groan. Well, better to get this over with. She hobbled away from Mark in the direction of the spa.

“In the interest of getting home before dark...” His arms came around her, and he swept her off her feet, lifting her into his arms as if she weighed nothing at all (and thank goodness for that because it took a little of the sting off her pride).

“I can walk,” she said, her voice gone all low and husky because now she was closer than ever to him, wrapped up in his warm, masculine scent. She felt his heart thumping against her, and as she met his eyes, it quickened.

So did hers.

Her hands tightened behind his neck, causing his head to dip toward hers. Helpless to get the pull, she leaned in, and her lips brushed his. Her entire body lit with awareness from her scalp to her toes, like she’d just turned on the light after a very long time in the dark. Whoa.
Yeah. Sparks. She and Mark still had them.

She sucked in a ragged breath, her eyes locking on to his, and then he kissed her back. This time his lips crashed into hers with an urgency that matched the need arising inside her. Her eyes uttered shut, and her lips parted.

“Woof!”
Jessica’s forehead bumped into Mark’s. He was looking down at the dog, his expression a mixture of amusement and frustration. At his feet, the dog was staring right back in rapt attention.

Way to ruin the moment, Fluffball.

Mark’s gaze flicked back to Jessica’s, and almost with-out thinking, she tipped her face, bringing her lips back to his. Everything inside her went all hot and tingly as his tongue swept into her mouth.

“Woof!”

“Seriously, now you discover your voice?” She glared down at the dog in mock exasperation.

Mark let out a rough laugh. “She hasn’t made a peep all day.”
“I don’t think she likes us kissing.” As she spoke, her gaze dropped to his lips. The damn dog was probably the only one here that had any sense. But right now, Jessica. Did. Not. Care.

The only thing she could think about was kissing him again. And again.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ - REVIEW: WHEN IN ROME By CJ DUGGAN

When in Rome
Heart of the City #4
By C.J. Duggan
Releasing November 26, 2017
Hachette Australia

In When in Rome (Hearts of the City #4) by CJ Duggan, Sammi Shorten is sick and tired that her self-orchestrated gap year has turned into her becoming a couch potato. Determined to get back out and achieve something worthwhile for her life, she decides to take a trip to Rome. She never imagined her holiday would turn into the trip from hell, but at least there's one thing positive about it -- Marcello Bambozzi. Spending time with Marcello is wonderful, but knowing she'll be returning home to Australia is in the back of her mind. But when she finds herself in trouble, Marcello offers to help. Will she give him a chance, so they can achieve forever after; or will she walk away from the man she's fallen in love with?

I have loved every one of the previous books, but Marcello would have to be the best hero of the Hearts of the City series so far and together he and Sammi are a wonderful couple that face some tough obstacles to be together such as the pair being from different countries and the heroine sooner or later returning to hers after her trip; the heroine not trusting Marcello at a crucial moment when he's done nothing but prove he's trustworthy; and whether Sammi would survive the trip from hell with people she doesn't have anything in common with.

The way this story started had me liking the heroine immediately, as she's determined to get her life back on track and do something meaningful with her life. However, it also made me feel sorry for her since her mother seems awfully opinionated when it comes to what Sammi should and shouldn't be doing with her money. Why isn't she happy that her daughter is actually doing something more than staying at home and being a couch potato? However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine met where this story had me completely enthralled, as the heroine realizes her trip might not be the trip of a lifetime she expected, but finds someone that can make it better. Will she give into the sparks that fly between her and Marcello?

Both the main characters were compelling and I loved the way they interacted with each other. In the beginning, it's palpable Sammi isn't used to being around men like Marcello, and I liked how determined she was to make the best out of a bad experience. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine is how she copes with everything she goes through, even if it means accepting the hero's help when she needs it most. While the hero, he's struggling to get his art class business off the ground, and I liked how the heroine helped him with her ideas. I also liked how kind and caring the hero was, especially in the moment when Sammi needed him.

Overall, Ms. Duggan has delivered another utterly fantastic read for this series where the chemistry between this couple was powerful; the romance hot and full of exquisite heat and passion; and the ending left me with a smile on my face and ready to cry happy tears because of which main character chased after the other, so they'd get their happy ever after. However, it was the decision the other made that had me loving the ending, as one of them had to have faith and take a giant leap for their happiness. Will it be Sammi or Marcello that makes a huge decision when it comes to where they'll end up -- Australia or Rome? I would recommend When in Rome by CJ Duggan, if you enjoy New Adult Romance, the mysterious strangers trope, or books by authors KM Golland, Jodi Perry, Lili St. Germain and Cindi Madsen.

The fourth standalone novel in CJ Duggan's Heart of the City series from the internationally bestselling author of the Summer and Paradise series.

How did a self-orchestrated gap year turn into a less-than enthralling lifestyle as a couch potato at her parents' house? Determined to get motivated and join life again, Sammi Shorten books a budget Bellissimo Tour to Rome, the Eternal City. What she hadn't signed up for was being stuck with an eclectic group of binge-drinking foreigners in a bed-bug-infested hostel from hell. Things in Rome really couldn't get much worse . . . could they?

When plans go completely awry Sammi's left with only one place to turn, and it's the one place Sammi really doesn't want to turn – to the man who might very well get her into the worst trouble of all: the gorgeous local tour guide, Marcello Bambozzi.
