Author Bio

Erika Marks is a women’s fiction writer and the author of Little Gale Gumbo, The Mermaid Collector, The Guest House and It Comes In Waves (July, 2014). On the long and winding road to becoming published, she worked many different jobs, including carpenter, cake decorator, art director, and illustrator. But if pressed, she might say it was her brief tenure with a match-making service in Los Angeles after college that set her on the path to writing love stories (not that there isn’t romance in frosting or power tools!) In The Christmas Window by Melissa McClone, Brandt Winslow is back in Silver Falls for the holidays. However, being home isn't easy for him, especially with what happened years ago that sent him running. Yet, meeting Callie Andrews makes things better for him and the more time they spend together, the more Brandt wants to stay. Will Brandt be able to let go of what happened in the past or will he break Callie's heart?

What an absolutely riveting, fast-paced, delightful read Ms. McClone has delivered in this book where the main characters have interesting back stories that made me want to get to know more about them; the dialogue was a wonderful combination of intense moments and playful banter that had me loving this couple's growing relationship; and the plot drew me in right from the beginning, as the heroine is stubborn and independent and doesn't need advice from another male with an opinion that makes her sound like she doesn't know what she's doing. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time where this story really takes off and had me reading quickly, determined to discover whether Callie would give Brandt a chance. 

With the characters, I was totally charmed by the hero and heroine as well as the secondary characters too, especially the hero's aunt. She's determined to matchmake because she wants Brandt to stay. Will she get her wish? Will Callie and Brandt end up together despite their rocky start? Furthermore, the heroine is resilient, courageous, hard-working, determined to prove she can be just as successful as any of her family and I liked that she gave the hero a chance, especially when she believes Brandt is just like her family and can't accept her for who she is. While the hero, he's been through tough times and it's understandable why he finds it hard to be in Silver Falls, especially after what his best friend did to him. With a best friend like Brandt had, who needs enemies? However, I liked that the hero would do anything for his aunt and how determined he was to win the heroine over, which is proven by how he tries to help her when things go awry for her. Will Callie accept the hero's help? Will she be able to let go of her independent streak to see that the hero is right?

Overall, Ms. McClone has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance was delightful and had me loving that the heroine gave the hero a chance, even though neither of them want anything to do with relationships because she's too independent while he has trust issues; and the ending had me loving how these two made things right between them because they're so deserving of the happiness they've found together. I would recommend The Christmas Window by Ms. McClone, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope, the matchmaking trope, Christmas themed stories or books by authors Sinclair Jayne, Erika Marks, Trish Milburn and Dani Collins.

In A Merry Mountain Christmas by Trish Milburn, Heidi Forrester is on vacation, yet her boss has nothing better to do than annoy her with work. Still, she's determined to have a good time and working for Ben McNamara in  his store A World of Christmas seems perfect since she loves all things Christmas. However, she' a city girl and she'll have to return home sooner or later to her dream job back in Chicago. Yet, the more time she spends with Ben, the more she finds herself wanting things she never thought she wanted. Will Ben be able to convince Heidi to stay? 

What an absolutely charming, fast-paced, entertaining read Ms. Milburn has delivered in this book where the main characters were fantastic, the dialogue drew me in from the beginning and had me loving the growing relationship between Heidi and Ben; and the fast-paced plot had me loving the town of Merry and its people, as Heidi becomes quite popular in a very short time. It's like she's meant to be a part of the town. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time where this story really takes off, as Heidi is fascinated by all things Christmas and it's no wonder she's so at home in Merry and Ben's store. 

With the main characters, I really enjoyed both the hero and heroine, as the hero is finally ready to do something different with his life and is giving up so much in the heroine's eyes. Will Heidi be able to understand why Ben is making such a decision, especially when the Christmas shop is his family legacy? Moreover, the heroine is resilient, courageous, hard-working and I liked the decisions she made throughout this story because love and happiness are important . I also liked the friendships the heroine made and I loved the advice her new friends give her, even if staying in Merry doesn't seem like a possibility for her. While the hero, he's charming, confident, has some big decisions to make and I liked the close relationship he has with his parents, especially since all his mom wants for him is to be happy. Will leaving Merry make him happy or is Merry where he needs to stay to be happy?

Overall, Ms. Milburn has delivered a wonderful read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance was delightful and had me loving these two together; the secondary characters entertained me just as much as the main ones; and the ending left me completely satisfied by the way these two fight for their happy ever after. How could they not make the decisions they do, especially when Merry is such a wonderful place? I would recommend A Merry Mountain Christmas by Trish Milburn, if you enjoy small town romances, the mysterious strangers trope or books by authors Melissa McClone, Sinclair Jayne, Erika Marks and Dani Collins.

Will Evie be able to win Flynn over or is a second chance at forever after not in the cards for her?

What a wonderful story to end a fantastic series this book was where I was entertained from start to finish because of the main characters that have interesting back stories; engrossing dialogue that had me smiling because how could the hero not take offense to what he hears the heroine say before they're even introduced; and the obstacles these two face together are tough, but I liked how they overcome them, especially since the heroine has some difficult choices to make when it comes to her career and whether she'll fight for her future with the hero, considering how their relationship goes awry and he may never be able to trust her again. 

With the main characters, they're relatable, likeable and I loved how this story really takes off from the moment these two meet. Certainly, the heroine should feel a little embarrassed, but I liked how they could joke about what Evie says, even though the hero is determined to prove her wrong. Will Evie give into the strong chemistry between her and Flynn to discover how wrong she is in her assumptions about farm boys and how different cowboys are to farm boys. Moreover, the heroine was resilient; courageous; sassy at times; and yet I thought she was a little weak when she didn't stand up for herself at the moment where something significant happens that leaves everyone angry at her. How could she not want to fight against what happened when it comes to her career?

While the hero, he's been through a lot and it's understandable why he doesn't do relationships. However, I liked how the heroine had him changing his mind and I liked how determined he was to win her over when the time comes to prove he's ready to be everything she needs. He's also confident, a little cocky, has good friendships with his siblings and the secondary characters and had me smiling because of his teasing banter, especially in the moment he and the heroine meet. Then again, there's a little bit of hostility too because he took offense to her words about farm boys. 

Overall, Ms. Rice has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance was delightful and had me loving these two together; and the ending had me loving the hero's determination to prove to the heroine that they should be together, especially after what she tells him. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up nicely, as these two are so good together and I liked how determined the hero was to show the heroine he wants her forever. I would recommend The Rodeo Cowboy's Baby by Heidi Rice, if you enjoy the surprise pregnancy trope, the enemy to lovers trope or books by authors Sinclair Jayne, Joan Kilby, Jeannie Watt and Sarah Mayberry.
