BOOK BLITZ & GIVEAWAY: THIS BABY BUSINESS by HEATHERLY BELL

This Baby Business

Publication date: October 1st 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Strictly business…or is it?
Air force pilot Levi Lambert has seen plenty of danger—but his infant daughter might be the death of him. Fortunately, Levi’s found the answer to his sleep-deprived prayers: his next-door neighbor!
Carly Gilmore is willing to be his nanny…until a small white lie turns their arrangement from business to very personal. The fake engagement was intended to keep Levi from losing custody of his baby girl, but is causing all sorts of new problems. Not only does Carly attract trouble like bees to honey, but there’s the little matter of Levi’s smokin’-hot attraction to her. The last thing he needs is to fall in love…

How exactly did he manage to look like sex on a stick at the end of a long day? He had this whole badass look going on, late-afternoon scruffiness over his jawline, making her want to rub against him like a cat.
Bad, bad Carly. “I wanted to talk to you about something anyway.”
“Oh, yeah. I haven’t had a whole lot of luck finding another sitter. I’ll make a few calls tonight.” He followed her into the family room.
“That’s not it. I need a favor.”
“Done.”
“You don’t even know what it is yet.”
He gave her an easy smile. “Doesn’t matter.”
“Be careful, Levi Lambert. You never know what I might ask.”
“Bring it on.” His eyes filled with obvious male appreciation.
She was reminded of her bare legs. The look he slid her was so full of heat that she thought her panties might spontaneously burst into flames. Focus, Carly, focus.
“I want to put photos of Grace on my website. I took some cute ones today.” She took her phone out and showed them to him. Shots of Grace staring with delight at a tree as if she’d just discovered them. Smiling as she watched a child playing ball, staring wide-eyed at a woman walking her poodle down the street.
“You took her to the park. She loves it there.” Levi didn’t take the phone from her, but instead held her wrist and brought the phone up closer.
Her stupid wrist tingled as if it thought it might be about to have a good time. She cleared her throat. “I know. Just look at this one. I think she noticed a cloud for the first time.”
He grinned, still holding her wrist. “Nah, she saw one last week.”
“Right. So…is it okay if I put her photos up? She’s an adorable baby.”
“Fine with me.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll never share her real name with my readers. And no one has any idea that the company is based in Fortune. My mother took great precautions to protect our privacy.”
“I trust you.” His big, rough hand slid from her wrist to her elbow, and the tingle traveled.
“Thank you.” She stared at his lips, willing him to kiss her. “The trust is…important.”
“Extremely.”
That talented hand now settled on her waist and pulled her closer. And somehow her hands were squeezing his biceps and she went up on the balls of her feet to get closer still. He kissed her long and deep, his hot, wet tongue insistent. It got wild and crazy as her hands fisted his shirt and his hands palmed her ass.
“Levi.” She broke off from the kiss, breathless. “We probably shouldn’t do this. It’s not…a good idea.”
He pressed his forehead to hers. “You’re right.”
Great. He agreed with her. “It’s stupid.”
“Yeah.” He tugged her in tighter and kissed her again. And again.
She threaded her fingers through his hair and moaned into his mouth.
And they continued to be crazy stupid for the next hour.

BLOG TOUR - REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: SECRET GAMES by SUZANNE ROCK

Secret Games
Tropical Temptation #2
By Suzanne Rock
Releasing September 25th, 2017
Entangled Publishing

In Secret Games (Tropical Temptation #2) by Suzanne Rock, Zoe Burkhart is a woman with a mission, and that's to make certain everything goes off without a hitch for an upcoming celebrity wedding. However, with things not going to plan, she's not sure what to do, other than head to the local bar. Yet, the moment she meets Tate Carrington, she finds her mood lifting, especially since he knows just the way to get her to forget her problems. But when Zoe discovers the truth about Tate and his family connections, will she be able to forgive him or will she walk away from the man she's falling in love with?

This is the first book I've read by this author and it was a riveting read that had me enjoying both the main and secondary characters because of their back stories and had me completely entertained by the dialogue because the hero isn't about to give up the heroine so easily, especially when she discovers what he's hiding about his family that makes her decide she can't trust him. The way this story started had me sympathizing with the heroine, as her job is hectic and making her stressed, but she can't quit because she needs a way to help her ill mother. Luckily, the hero offers her the kind of distraction she needs to take the edge off. Really, the hero is good stress relief for the heroine.

Both the main characters were fascinating and I absolutely loved the hero's back story, because he needed to get away from his dad's plans for him and live his own life. Moreover, the hero is confident, driven and I liked how determined he was to win the heroine over because he needs her in his life. I also liked the hero's back story because losing his brother made him realize that he couldn't live his life the way his father wanted him to. I also liked how willing the hero was to help Zoe when it came to her mother, While the heroine, she's resilient, courageous, independent and I liked how determined she was to do her job to the best of her ability, even if the soon-to-be bride is a bridezilla of epic proportions.

Overall, Ms. Rock has penned a wonderful read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance red hot and had me wondering if my kindle would spontaneously combust because of the heat between Zoe and Tate; and the ending had me totally hooked because Tate will do anything to win back the heroine after things go awry with their relationship. Will Zoe forgive Tate for lying to her about his life and keeping things from her when it comes to his past? However, what I really liked about the end is what happens at the wedding that has Tate's friend, Gavin, making a prediction about their future; and how Zoe helped Tate with his father and how she brought them closer together than they've ever been. I would recommend Secret Games by Suzanne Rock, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Elizabeth Otto, Amy Andrews, Rebecca Brooks and Daire St. Denis.

Event planner Zoe Burkhart’s biggest event--the upcoming celebrity wedding of the year—is going to kill her. Nothing is ready—including the chapel. So she heads to the local bar and ends up venting her frustrations to a handsome stranger. The more they talk, the sexier he becomes, and it isn’t long before her Screaming Orgasm cocktail turns into the real thing. But in the morning, she learns that it’s his construction company that’s put her job on the line.

Playboy turned construction boss, Tate Carrington, is going crazy trying to please the diva bride-to-be. But he’s sure attracted to wedding planner. One night with her isn’t nearly enough. When she offers him a sexy deal—one he knows will land her back in his bed--he believes it’s a win-win situation.

That is, until he starts wanting more than just her body. Now he wants her heart, and everyone knows that whatever Tate Carrington wants, he gets...

BLOG TOUR - REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: BIDDING ON THE BACHELOR by KERRI CARPENTER

Recently divorced Carissa Blackwell returns to her hometown and reconnects with her first love Jasper Dumont, while the ubiquitous Bayside Blogger reports their every move for the town newspaper in this delightful & playful novel by award-winning romance author Kerri Carpenter

Bidding on the Bachelor
Saved by the Blog #2
Kerri Carpenter
Releasing October 1, 2017
Harlequin Special Edition

In Bidding on the Bachelor (Saved by the Blog #2) by Kerri Carpenter, Carissa Blackwell knows she doesn't have a lot of options now that she's getting divorced, so heading back to the one place she swore she'd never return seems the most logical choice. However, being back in Bayside brings back painful reminders of why she left in the first place, but what else can she do but face the past, and especially face Jasper Dumont, the boy whose heart she crushed ten years ago. Yet, the more time she spends with Jasper, the harder she begins to find it is to resist him. Is she ready to give forever after another chance or will she crush Jasper's heart again?

What a wonderful second book Ms. Carpenter has penned for her Saved by the Blog series where the main characters entertained me from start to finish due to their back stories and their past history that had me wanting to discover how soon the hero would forgive the heroine for the past; and riveting dialogue that had me hooked by this couple's growing relationship and the musings of the person writing the blog. Who is the person behind the blog? The way this story started had me sympathizing with the heroine because of what she's going through. However, it was from the moment the hero discovers the heroine is back in town that had me smiling because of what happens to him. Interesting what happens to people in Bayside when they're distracted.

Both the main characters were engaging and had me loving their back stories and their history because what the heroine said when they broke up ten years ago made a difference to the hero's life. Really, he's done very well for himself. He's ambitious, determined to prove himself to his family because he's never felt good enough, and I liked that he was willing to give the heroine another chance, even though she hurt him pretty badly with her words in the past. How could she possibly think the hero was anything like her father; a man with no drive or determination to provide for his family? While the heroine, she's strong, brave and I liked how determined she was to start over and make something of herself when it came to what she was going to do to support herself. Certainly, ahe's driven and motivated. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine is the friends she made in the secondary characters and how they offer her such great advice when it comes to her relationship with Jasper.

Overall, Ms. Carpenter has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was powerful; the romance delightful and showed how good these two are together; and the ending had me loving how far the heroine was willing to go to win back the hero since she was wrong to judge him the way she did. I would recommend Bidding on the Bachelor by Kerri Carpenter, if you enjoy second chance romances or books by authors Nancy Robards Thompson, Christine Rimmer, Rachel Lee and Marie Farrarella.

Another roll of the dice

Big news, fair readers! Bayside High's favorite It Girl is back. Would you have bet Carissa Blackwell would ever return? Ten years ago, she crushed Jasper Dumont's heart under her Jimmy Choos and left town for a bigger, better life. Her return raises one question: What is she running from (or is it to) now?

Perhaps Jasper knows? One look at Carissa and he fell in the bay! (Rich, single and devastatingly handsome, Jasper's our catch of the day.) That icy plunge should have brought him to his senses, yet "Casper" has been spotted together all over town. Does this mean Bayside's legendary couple may reunite? The stakes are high, but the Bayside Blogger's money is riding on love!

“I’m back in town.”

“For how long?” he asked quickly, too quickly. In fact, if she wasn’t mistaken, anger laced his question. She must have reacted to it because his features softened. “Sorry, it’s none of my business. And I do remember that today is your birthday. So, happy birthday, Carissa.”

“Thanks,” she said, and meant it. She decided to offer an olive branch because the truth was that she’d dumped him and she hadn’t been kind about it. This icy reception she was receiving was well deserved. While she knew the reasons behind her decision, she’d never let Jasper in on it. She’d been a bratty, selfish teenager, not capable of understanding her emotions. Unwilling to admit that Jasper had always reminded her of her father and that summer her dad had dropped a bombshell on her.

“I don’t know how long I’ll be in town. I’m sort of in a transition period right now.” He waited patiently. After another long drink of beer, she finished. “I just got divorced.” Saying the words out loud left an awful taste in her mouth. An acidic aftertaste of yuckiness.

First, shock flashed on his face. Then, true concern shone in his eyes. “I’m sorry,” he said.

And that might have been her undoing. Because he had every reason to be stiff and awkward with her. Instead, any kind of compassion from him loosened her lips.

“Today is my twenty-ninth birthday. I’m having a beer next to my ex-boyfriend, who hates my guts, in a dive bar in the town I swore I would never step foot in again. An ex-boyfriend I should really apologize to because I was an evil witch to him.” The words were flying now. She gripped her hand tightly around her glass. “I’m not even thirty and already I’ve been married and divorced. And I got divorced because he freaking cheated on me.”

She couldn’t miss the way Jasper’s eyes narrowed, his hands curled into fists, and there was a definite tic in his clenched jaw. “He cheated on you?”

“Yep. Apparently, the fact that I was homecoming queen, prom queen and head cheerleader did nothing to impress him. Or keep his pants zipped up when anyone wearing a skirt in the Central Time Zone walked by. That probably makes your whole day, doesn’t it?”

He slammed his hand on the bar and she jumped. But she just as quickly composed herself. “What? You have every right to revel in my misery after the way I broke up with you. I got divorced. You win.”

His eyes narrowed. “I don’t want to win at that game. And I certainly don’t want to hear that some idiot cheated on you. I’m sorry you’re getting divorced.”

“That makes one of us.”

REVIEW: HER LAST GOODBYE by MELINDA LEIGH

Her Last Goodbye
Morgan Dane #2
By Melinda Leigh
Releasing September 26th, 2017
Montlake Romance

In Her Last Goodbye (Morgan Dane #2) by Melinda Leigh, Morgan Dane is determined to help prove that Chelsea Clark's husband had nothing to do with her disappearance. However, knowing it may be impossible to prove without help, she teams up with private investigator, Lance Kruger. But as they get further into their investigation, Morgan finds herself being pulled further and further into a dangerous game of cat and mouse with her as the mouse. Will she be able to keep herself and her family safe, or will the killer get what he wants -- Morgan?

Ms. Leigh is one of my go-to authors for romantic suspense, and this series is one that has me absolutely enthralled by the direction Ms. Leigh has taken each book so far. Most especially this book due to the gripping twists and turns this story takes that make it a total page turner. The way this story started was spine-tingling and had me wondering how far the bad guy was willing to go when it came to his evilness. How many women will lose their lives? However, it was from the moment that Morgan started investigating where this story had me hooked, because she's driven and unwilling to give up until she finds out everything to do with the case and that the women of the area are safe again.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to this story being told by the bad guy's point-of-view as well as everything the heroine goes through while investigating to prove their client's innocence. Will she be able to keep her family safe? Will Lance be able to protect Morgan from the bad guy? Furthermore, I was totally charmed by the hero and heroine's chemistry and how resilient Morgan is. No way will she give up until she knows everyone is safe, especially her family. Yet, what I liked most about this book is how it kept me guessing as to who the person was responsible for what happened to Chelsea and the other women and how it totally took me by surprise at the end.

Overall, Ms. Leigh has penned another fantastic read for this series where the chemistry between Lance and Morgan is wonderful and special and shows that no one is more deserving of happiness than Morgan after her loss. The way this story ended had me totally captivated because of what Morgan and Lance did to get the bad guys. Morgan really is made of tough stuff. I would recommend Her Last Goodbye by Melinda Leigh, if you enjoy romantic suspense or books by authors Kendra Elliott, Mary Burton, Allison Brennan and Toni Anderson.

Young mother Chelsea Clark leaves the house for a girls’ night out…and vanishes. Her family knows she would never voluntarily leave her two small children. Her desperate husband—also the prime suspect—hires Morgan to find his wife and prove his innocence.

As a single mother, Morgan sympathizes with Chelsea’s family and is determined to find her. She teams up with private investigator Lance Kruger. But the deeper they dig, the deadlier their investigation gets. When Morgan is stalked by a violent predator, everything—and everyone—she holds dear is in grave danger.

Now, Morgan must track down a deranged criminal to protect her own family…but she won’t need to leave home to find him. She’s his next target.

REVIEW: GAME ON by LYNN STEVENS

Game On
Westland University #2
By Lynn Stevens
Releasing September 18th, 2017
Entangled Publishing

In Game On (Westland University #2) by Lynn Stevens, Olivia Dawson made a mistake when she cheated on her boyfriend at the time, especially since she ended up in the bed of her arch enemy, Devon Miller. Even worse, now they're competing for an internship at the one place Olivia has always wanted to work and both will do anything to get the coveted position. However, the more time Olivia spends with Devon, the more she realizes how wrong she's been about him. But when something happens and Devon doesn't take her side, will things ever be the same between them or is the trust they had for the other too broken for the pair to find their way back to each other?

Having enjoyed the first book of this series, I couldn't wait to discover more about the baseball team Devon plays on, how the drug scandal has affected the players and whether they can find a way to go out and play their absolute best. The way this story started had me amused by the heroine's reaction to where she is. Could she possibly find a way to get out of being where she is? However, it was the moment that the hero and heroine came together for the first time that had me absolutely hooked, as Devon is charming and there's plenty of chemistry between Olivia and the hero that just made me want to know how long it would take Devon to win the heroine over, despite their past that makes it palpable he's already won her over once.

As for the dialogue, it was very entertaining due to the main characters back stories that have Olivia determined to avoid Devon at all costs because he's her enemy; the one that she finds herself continually competing against and coming off second best more often than not. Will she ever win against him? Moreover, both the main characters were fascinating and I loved how determined Devon was to win the heroine over, no matter how many obstacles he had to face including Olivia's ex-boyfriend, whether the heroine can handle the truth of what the hero is keeping from her; and whether the hero trusts Olivia enough to see that she would never do anything to hurt him.

While the heroine, she's been through a lot and I liked that she fought for her future, even if her dad pushed her to fight for what she wanted to do when it came to college and a career. I also liked how smart and sassy Olivia is and that she can handle Devon when it comes to them conversing and him using his charm on her to make her realize that he's a good guy and not her enemy. It's palpable he likes her a lot. I also liked the way Olivia helped her friend with her relationship; a relationship her friend needed to realize was toxic. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine is her determination to do anything she can to prove she has what it take to be an exceptional engineer.

Overall, Ms. Stevens has delivered a fantastic read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was powerful; the romance wonderful, despite not going into a lot of detail; and the ending had me captivated because of how far Olivia is willing to go to help Devon and his friends and what she's willing to do to make things right between her and the hero since they belong together forever. I would recommend Game On by Lynn Stevens, if you enjoy New Adult romance; sports romances; the enemy to lovers trope; or books by authors Amy Daws, Stacy Borel, Alice Ward and Cindi Madsen.

Olivia Dawson doesn’t make mistakes. Unless those mistakes are a tall, broad-shouldered, cocky baseball player named Devon Miller. Devon and Olivia have been competing in their engineering classes since freshman year, and he seems to want nothing more than to get under her skin and shake her confidence. Unless you count that one time when he got under more than just her skin…

Now, they’re pitted against each other for a coveted internship that could open tons of doors for each of them. Only one of them can win. And they’re both ready to fight dirty if they need to.

Could Devon be playing for more than just his own gain—could he be after her heart?

Olivia is about to find out.

REVIEW: BECOMING BELLA by SARAH HEGGER

Becoming Bella
Ghost Falls #2
By Sarah Hegger
Releasing September 26th, 2017
Zebra

In Becoming Bella (Ghost Falls #2) by Sarah Hegger, Bella Erikson is well-loved by the people of Ghost Falls, yet she's sick and tired of everyone feeling sorry for her because of the long-time crush she's had on Sheriff Nate Evans. Determined to do whatever it takes to make people see she's so much more, she decides to try and enjoy life, live a little and hopefully find another man to help take her mind off the gorgeous Sheriff. However, when her pursuit for another man leads to trouble in the way of him sending her heart emojis and giant bouquets of flowers, there's only one man to turn to -- Nate Evans. Will Nate finally realize that Bella is the woman for him, or will their relationship crash and burn before it ever really gets started?

There are just some authors that know how to brighten this reader's day when she's feeling down and Ms. Hegger is one of those wonderful authors, especially with heroes like the Evans brothers that are a  total triple D threat -- delectable, delightful and dexterous; heroines that are determined to go after what they want like Bella does in this book, even though things go a combination of right and wrong for her; and secondary characters that made me laugh, especially Bella's next door neighbor with her flirting and determination to land her Mr. Right. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time that had me laughing at Bella's predicament. How does she manage to get herself into trouble the way she did?

The dialogue was well-written and a wonderful combination of intense moments and teasing banter that had me adoring the main characters, as Nate is a man determined not to get involved with a sweet woman like Bella, and yet, she's impossible to resist, not only because of what's happening to her, but because it's palpable there's something about her that he can't get enough of. However, in saying that, the trouble Bella faces from someone determined to win her heart had shivers running down my spine at various moments throughout this story, as the man that wanted Bella was an obsessive jerk that kept getting more and more bold in his pursuit. Will Nate be able to protect her?

As for the main characters, both were absolutely enthralling. Bella is determined to prove she's not pining after Nate, even though she's had a crush on him for years and I liked how proactive she was in her pursuit to get over him, even though things don't go according to plan for her. I also liked how resilient and courageous she was in standing up to her grandmother; a woman that didn't know how to let go of something important to her, even though Bella had every right to do what she was planning. While Nate, he is such a fantastic hero that I couldn't get enough of, as he would do anything for family, even if it means dealing with a mother that thinks the world revolves around her. I also liked how much the hero has turned his life around from the juvenile delinquent he once was, how far he's come in being a police officer and how protective he was of the heroine. Then again, Bella needs all the protection she can't get and I could understand why the secondary characters were so determined to help her.

Overall, Ms. Hegger has penned another must read book for this series where this couple's chemistry was wonderful and had me flipping the pages determined to discover how things will work out for this pair; where the romance was wonderfully-crafted and illustrated how good and right Nate and Bella are together; the secondary characters were just as entertaining as the main ones, because of their sound advice and determination to see Nate and Bella happy; and the ending had me on the edge-of-my-seat due to what happens to one of the main characters, but left me completely satisfied with how Nate made things right with Bella since there's no way he can let her get away. She means everything to him. I would recommend Becoming Bella by Sarah Hegger, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope, the friends to lovers trope, small town romances; or books by authors Ruthie Knox, Jill Shalvis, Kelly Moran and Samantha Chase.

This Christmas, a good reputation can really get in a girl’s way . . .

As long as she can remember, Bella Erikson’s been the unofficial sweetheart of Ghost Falls, Utah. And ever since Nate Evans dipped her braids in purple paint in the first grade, he’s been her dream guy. Not that she minds the attention, but sometimes she wishes people saw more in her than just the girl who still has a crush on Sheriff Evans. She has a life after all, a new bridal shop to run, and more mature relationships to pursue . . .

Nate knows he’s not good enough for sweet Bella. But he’s pretty sure the new guy sending her heart emojis and giant bouquets isn’t either. And when Bella’s suitor turns stalker, protecting Bella isn’t just Nate’s instinct—it’s his duty. Crammed together for safety and really talking for the first time in years, Bella and Nate can’t fight the moment their chemistry turns into pyrotechnics. Whether it will burn them out or light up the sky, only time will tell . . .
