Kaine Reynolds wants nothing more than solitude. After an unthinkable tragedy destroys his family, he’s cut off all ties to his former life so he can battle his grief the only way he knows how. Alone.

So when Piper Campbell knocks on his door, rambling on about being his new neighbor, he slams the door in her face. But Kaine’s gruff demeanor doesn’t scare her. She’s set on living in Montana and starting over after a terrible divorce. And she wouldn’t mind having a fling to chase away the pain of her husband’s betrayal.

Her handsome, albeit rude, neighbor is the perfect candidate. Yet what neither of them suspect is that their no-strings affair will result in the surprise of Piper’s lifetime—and Kaine’s worst fear.

In Tragic (Lark Cove #3) by Devney Perry, after her divorce was finalised, Piper Campbell decided she needed a change. Moving to Lark Cove is the perfect solution, but she never expected to fall for another man. Still, when she discovers she's pregnant, will she be able to convince Kaine to give a relationship between them a chance or is Kaine's past too painful for him to move forward from to be able to give happy ever after a chance?

What an emotionally-charged, fast-paced, enthralling read Ms. Perry has delivered in this third book of her Lark Cove series where the main characters are well-developed, relatable and likeable; the dialogue was compelling and had me loving this couple's growing relationship, as they try to keep things casual; and the obstacles these two face are tough, but had me smiling as they manage to overcome each one, especially the one that is holding the hero back. Will he be able to forgive those he felt betrayed him?

With the main characters, the heroine was resilient, courageous and I liked how she handled everything she goes through from dealing with her ex to helping the hero when he goes through one of the hardest moments of his life. Will she be able to help Kaine heal from his past? While the hero, he's been through so much and it's understandable why he's so angry at the people that betrayed him. Why couldn't they see things from his point-of-view? Why were sides taken? Furthermore, I loved how the hero handles everything he goes through in this story from dealing with his grief to opening up to the heroine (which isn't easy) to dealing with his family.

Overall, Ms. Perry has delivered an utterly superb read in this book where the chemistry between Kaine and Piper was powerful; the romance was hot and full of exquisite heat and passion; and the ending had me loving that Piper was willing to fight for Kaine and help him to heal from his past because it's the only way they can be together. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up nicely because of Piper's surprise. I would recommend Tragic by Devney Perry, if you enjoy the mysterious strangers trope, the surprise pregnancy trope or books by authors Kelly Elliott, Adriana Locke, Corinne Michaels and Vi Keeland.

BLOG TOUR - REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: THE CHRISTMAS LAYOVER by ROBERT TATE MILLER

The weather forecasters said the snowstorm would miss the eastern seaboard. They were wrong.

When Ally Henderson’s flight from Southern California to finally marry her fiancé in New York City on Christmas gets diverted to the tiny Midwestern town of Bethlehem, she’s desperate to get back in the air and to the Big Apple. But with all the airports closed, she’s forced to rely on Midwestern hospitality to wait out the storm.

Living with a welcoming stranger is one way to spend a snowed-in Christmas, but when she meets the local diner owner, the kindhearted and surprisingly sexy Jake, sparks fly. Only, Ally’s a big-city girl with big-city dreams, and Jake will always be a Bethlehem boy.

Add to Goodreads

In The Christmas Layover by Robert Tate Miller, when Ally Henderson finds herself in the small town of Bethlehem after her flight to New York is diverted due to bad weather, she's determined to make the most of it. However, it's not that easy, especially when she's so far away from her real life and then her fiancée turns her life upside down. Will Jake be able to help Ally forget her problems or will they lose their shot at happy ever after because Ally is a city girl while Jake will always be a small town guy?

What a sweet, fast-paced, delightful read this author has delivered in this book, which packed quite the emotional punch due to the hero's back story, but had me loving the playful banter between the hero and heroine as well as the growing friendship between the heroine and one of the secondary characters. Really, the growing friendship was cute, as Noel is such an interesting secondary character. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time where this story really gets interesting, as they don't get off to the best of starts. How could the hero say what he does when it comes to her career?

With the main characters, the heroine goes through quite a lot and I could understand why she isn't ready to give up on her dreams, especially when she's hit rock bottom in terms of what she loses because of her ex and whether she'll be able to get it back. Yet, in saying that, she's resilient, courageous, loves to give advice and I liked how determined she was to see the best in the situation she's found herself in. Since she isn't used to be being part of a small town that shows secrets don't stay hidden. While the hero, he's had it tough since the death of his fiancée and I couldn't help but sympathize with him. He's also confident, a little cocky when it comes to the competition he faces, has a good relationship with his family and I liked how determined he was to show the heroine that all hope isn't lost, especially with what she discovers about her fiancée and his deceiving ways. How could the guy be so selfish?

Overall, Mr. Miller has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance was on the sweet side and the ending had me loving the hero's determination to win Ally's heart. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up nicely, as Ally and Jake have come so far in their relationship and have so much more happiness to look forward to. I would recommend The Christmas Layover by Robert Tate Miller, if you enjoy small town romances, the opposites attract trope or books by authors LE Rico, Victoria James, Sonya Weiss and Jennifer Hoopes.

Robert Tate Miller was raised in the North Carolina mountain town of Hendersonville and began writing at an early age. Falling in love can come with the most unexpected risks in this First Wives novel from New York Times bestselling author Catherine Bybee.

In Chasing Shadows (First Wives #3) by Catherine Bybee, Avery Grant barely survived a brutal attack, but it's made her stronger. She's determined never to be caught off guard again. Yet, there's something about Liam that makes her think about tossing her no dating rule aside and giving a man a chance. Except when Avery's past has her looking for answers, will she push away the person she's coming to love or will she let him in completely to achieve her happy ever after?

I have had this book on my kindle for the past three months and have been putting off reading it because I couldn't warm up to Avery in the first two books of Ms. Bybee's First Wives series. Since I thought she was too opinionated and interfering when it came to her friends love lives and too much of a socialite that loves attention and to spend money. Really, she just annoyed me until something terrible happened to her in the second book of the series that left me shocked. Still, I've been hesitant to read this book, but I'm glad I finally did, as it was highly entertaining, fast-paced and has exceptional emotional depth that shows how much of a warrior Avery is.

The way this story started drew me into the story immediately, as Avery is determined never to be a victim again. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time where this story really takes off, as Liam is an absolutely delightful hero who is relatable, likeable, sensible and so straight-forward. A man who doesn't hold anything back and goes after what he wants and what he wants is Avery. Really, his pursuit of her was genius, even if it does come off a little stalkerish -- at first -- to some of the secondary characters.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories, especially the heroine as she's been through a lot in her life and it's understandable why she needed to break away from her parents. Her mother is totally pretentious and has some very outdated views of women. Luckily, Avery has discovered what she wants out of life and has gone for it when it comes to a career. Moreover, the heroine is resilient, courageous and I liked how driven she is when it comes to her career, even if she does get a little sidetracked because of personal issues that have her wanting answers. I also liked how she stood up to her friends when it comes to her life being hers and she can do what she wants. Yes, they are her friends, but she doesn't need them to save her. That is something she can now do herself. Really, her courage shines throughout this story with all she's done and does to be able to keep herself safe.

Overall, Ms Bybee has delivered an absolutely incredible read in this book where the chemistry between Avery and Liam was off-the-charts and tangible from the moment they meet; the romance was hot and shows how right these two are for each other; and the ending left me completely satisfied because of what Avery undercovers and how it helps her to heal completely from what she went through. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up perfectly, as Liam and Avery are absolutely adorable together. I would recommend Chasing Shadows by Catherine Bybee, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Marina Adair, Jill Shalvis, Jennifer Probst and Erin Nicholas.

By Marie Johnston

Deputy Farah James arrests bad boys, she doesn’t date them. So when an ex-con with a fiery past returns to town, she ignores the criminal things he does to her pulse. Behind bars, Jesse Rodriguez and his wicked looks were easy to dismiss, but as a free man with a life to reclaim, he’s never been more dangerous to her—or her job and the ranch that depends on her paycheck.

When stopping to help a stranded motorist puts Jesse on the radar of the local deputy, for once, he doesn’t complain. After all, Farah’s just as cute as he remembers. Too bad she’s also an icy professional who doubts he’s a changed man. He’s willing to give her up as a lost cause and make his way out of town…until an accident strands him at the ranch next door.

Crossing paths on duty is one thing, but seeing how good Jesse is with his hands threatens everything she’s ever worked for. But Farah’s not the only one taking a risk, and he won’t torch his future again, even if it means leaving her in his rearview mirror for good.

In Rancher in Training (Part-Time Cowboys #1) by Marie Johnston, Jesse Rodriguez is doing his best to move on from his past, but it isn't as easy as he thought. Especially when people still see him as a criminal, even though he was released from jail a few years ago. However, he catches a break when someone offers him a place to stay and a job. Still, he's living next door to a cop who also happens to be part of his past. Will Farah be willing to risk her career to be with Jesse or will they end up breaking each other's hearts?

This story was such an interesting, fast-paced, wonderful read that had me hooked from the very beginning because the hero is doing his best to move on from his past and it's good that someone is willing to give him a chance. It's something he needs in order to make sure he stays out of trouble because he doesn't want anything to hurt his chances of rebuilding his life and making sure he stays on the straight and narrow. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time where this story really takes off, as it's hard not to like Farah, even though it seems Farah isn't going to make things easy for Jesse. He's served his time. Doesn't he deserve a second chance? Yet, I liked how when these two first met that it shows how strong their chemistry is.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories and everything these two go through that left me wondering whether they'd get their happy ever after, especially once certain things happen that made me think the heroine worried too much about her reputation and not her chance at happiness. Moreover, the heroine is resilient, courageous, hard-working and I liked how the decisions she makes throughout this story show the hero there's a way they can make a relationship between them work. While the hero, he really surprised me because he's so determined to make sure that what happened in the past never happens again. I also liked how determined he was to prove that he's changed, especially when things begin to happen that make him look like the guilty party. Will he be able to prove he's changed to those that think he's still a criminal? Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was his determination to fight for his relationship with the heroine. No way will he be her dirty little secret.

Overall, Ms. Johnston has delivered a really good read where the chemistry between this couple was tangible and from the moment they come face-to-face; the romance was wonderful and had me loving that the heroine took a chance on the hero because he's changed; and the ending left me completely satisfied because of what the heroine does to show the hero how much she wants him in her life. I would recommend Rancher in Training by Marie Johnston, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope, the opposites attract trope or books by authors Vivian Arend, Sophie Jordan, Elle James and Lorelei James.

In She's Country Strong (Wilder Sisters #2) by Heatherly Bell, Sabrina Wilder did a very stupid thing when she sent a half-naked picture of herself to a guy she thought she could trust. Turns out she couldn't and she found herself amidst a scandal with she and her sisters being dropped by their label. But now she's done hiding and ready to get back to Nashville with help from image consultant, Damien 'DC' Caldwell. Yet, the more time she spends with Damien, the more she finds herself falling for a man that wants nothing to do with relationships. Will Sabrina be able to convince DC to take a chance on her or will he end up breaking her heart?

What another wonderful addition to this series Ms. Bell has delivered in this story where the hero is determined to help the heroine succeed in getting her music career back on track; the heroine is determined to drive the hero crazy because she's a temptation he can't resist; and the dialogue was a delightful combination of fun moments because the heroine loves to unsettle the hero with how she expresses how much she wants DC and knows he wants her to, but he's not easily rattled and intense moments due to the main characters back stories, which made it understandable why the hero was so determined to get what he wants once he's helped Sabrina. How could his father be such a jerk?

With the main characters, I absolutely loved this pair. Their back stories and everything they go through make them the wonderful characters they are. The heroine is sassy, resilient, courageous and I liked how determined she was to win the hero over. Since DC needs someone in his life to show him that there are people in the world he can trust. That he doesn't have to go at things alone for the rest of his life. While the hero, he's arrogant, very good at his job and I loved how he was willing to fight for the heroine when it came to the pressures of dealing with the press and dealing with the heroine's mother who believes she's always right when it comes to her daughters lives. Really, I absolutely loved the moment where DC goes head-to-head with Sabrina's mom. He really surprised me with how he fights for the heroine and is determined to give her the best opportunities when it comes to her music career. No way will he let her mother do anything to hurt her chances.

Overall, Ms. Bell has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance was delightful and had me loving these two together, as DC needs someone like Sabrina in his life; and the ending had me loving the hero's determination to prove to Sabrina that she's the one for him, especially after how their relationship goes awry. I also liked how sassy Sabrina was when it came to his declaration of love because it was palpable he loved her. I would recommend She's Country Strong by Heatherly Bell, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope, the mysterious strangers trope or books by authors Annie Rains, Rachel Lacey, Erin Nicholas and Samantha Chase.

BLOG TOUR - REVIEW: SEDUCE ME by KELLY ELLIOTT

Seduce Me
Austin Singles #1
By Kelly Elliott
Releasing November 6th, 2018
Self-Published

What happens when you’re forced to seduce the one person you vowed never to love?

You get screwed … in more than one way.

I walked out of Tucker Middleton’s bedroom seven years ago, leaving him hurt and angry. Now I need his help; the only way I can get it, is to make him think I want him back.

The only problem is we have silently vowed to hate one another for the rest of our lives. In order to get Tucker to help me—I have to seduce him

Easy right?

Hell yes! I’m the CEO of CMI Consulting. If I set my mind to something, I make it happen. Charleston Monroe is playing me for a fool. If she believes for one second I’m going to let her walk into my life to help her save the very job that ripped her away from me, she’s got another thing coming.

She thinks she can seduce me, and I let her believe she can. After all, I’m getting what I’ve always wanted.

Her.

In Seduce Me (Austin Singles #1) by Kelly Elliott, Charleston 'Charlie' Monroe needs to marry if she's to be CEO of her family's company, otherwise the position will go to someone else. So, she decides to seduce Tucker Middleton, the man she hasn't been able to get out of her head for the past seven years. Yet, the more time they spend together, the more Charlie wants their relationship to be more than a game of seduction. But when she discovers that Tucker mightn't be as invested in their relationship as she is and that he could be looking for revenge because of what happened between them in the past, will she walk away from Tucker for good or will she fight for their second chance at happy ever after?

What a highly entertaining, fast-paced, emotionally-animating read Ms. Elliott has delivered in this first book of her Austin Singles series where every obstacle this couple faced to be together kept surprising me and had me reading quickly, determined to discover whether they'd get their happy ever after; and the dialogue was compelling because the hero and heroine are constantly at odds. Yet, the moments when they're getting along are delightful and had me smiling because Tucker can be quite charming when he wants to be.

The way this story started had me immediately hooked, as the heroine comes off a little mean, but she doesn't mean to be. She's trying to make her dad proud and she doesn't have time for distractions. Yet, Tucker is the man she'd want if she had time for men. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face again years later where this story really takes off because Tucker is still bitter after the way things went down between them in the past. Will he be able to push past his bitterness to convince Charlie to take a chance on him?

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories and the obstacles these two face together, which just kept getting more and more interesting and had thinking will-they-or-won't-they get their happy ever after, as each obstacle became more and more impossible to overcome, especially since emotions run high and loyalty and trust are put to the test when tragedy strikes. Moreover, the main characters are incredible and very interesting and I loved their growing relationship. Charlie and Tucker don't make things easy for each other because it's hard for Tucker to forgive what Charlie did in the past.

With the main characters, the heroine is resilient, courageous, a total ball-buster when she wants to be and finds it hard to show emotion, so I loved the moments when she broke down because she needed those moments to grieve for everything she's lost. Yet, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her when it comes to her friends. How could they be so harsh when it seems she's not the one at fault when things go awry in this couple's growing relationship? While the hero, he's confident, cocky, hard-working and I liked that he was willing to give the heroine another chance, even though it seems that Tucker might be using her just as much as the heroine is determined to seduce him. Is he looking for revenge because of the past? Furthermore, I couldn't help but be affected by things that happen in the hero's life that send him into a tailspin. The guilt he feels over what transpired had me sympathizing with the hero. How is he supposed to move forward after everything that happens?

Overall, Ms. Elliott has delivered a superb and well-written tale in this book where emotions run high; the chemistry between this couple was off the charts; the romance was heavy and hot and full of passion; and the ending had me liking the heroine's determination to prove to the hero that nothing can tear them apart. Besides, what she does shows how much she trusts him. Yet, it was the final chapter that wrapped this story up perfectly, because of how far Tucker and Charlie have come in their relationship and the fact that they have so much to look forward to for their future. I would recommend Seduce Me by Kelly Elliott, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope, second chance romances or books by authors Corinne Michaels, Adriana Locke, Kristy Bromberg and Vi Keeland.

Rolling over, I pulled the covers over my head and moaned.

“Oh shit,” I whispered. Even my whispered words hurt my head. I hadn’t drunk like that in a long time. Note to self: Give up alcohol. Except wine. Wait. No. Never ever give up wine. With my head still buried, I tried to think back to last night. The last thing I remembered was talking to that guy . . . Brad. No Billy. Bobby? Brady? Who cares? I need aspirin. I pushed the covers over my head and went to get out of bed. I froze when I saw the sheets. Oh. My. God. These aren’t my sheets. Turning, I looked at the bed. This isn’t my bed. Glancing down, I gasped. I’m not wearing any clothes.

Covering my mouth, I jumped up. “I didn’t. Oh God, please tell me I didn’t. Terri! I’m going to kill her.” Frantically looking around, I saw my purse on the chair in the corner. Rushing over to it, I dug through it until I found my phone.

As I waited for that whore to answer her phone, I mumbled, “She broke the number one girlfriend code. Don’t let your friend leave with a guy when they’re drunk!”

“Hey, girl! So? Did you get laid like you wanted? Please tell me yes ’cause this would make a great story.”

My heart jumped to my throat as a small sound came from my lips. “Wh-what? Why? How could you? You let me go off with him? What if he had killed me!”

She laughed. “Hardly. But then again, you do drive him up a wall, and he has mentioned snuffing you out a time or two.”

My finger and thumb went to the bridge of my nose. “What are you talking about?”

Terri muffled the phone, then laughed. “Hello? Terri! I’m at a strange man’s house, I don’t remember anything, and I’m naked.”

“Wait. You’re naked?”

“Yes!”

“Oh, wow. Shit just got really interesting. Where’s Tucker?”

Tucker? How in the hell would I know where Tucker was? “I don’t know! I don’t care. Terri. I don’t know where I am. He could come back any minute, and I’m standing here naked. Oh my God. Do you think I had sex with him?”

“Do you feel like you had sex?”

Stopping, I jumped around a bit. “No. I’d be sore if I did, right? Fuck if I know, it’s been so long.”

Terri sighed. “It really has been that long. You’ve done forgotten how it feels, huh?”

“Aww, hell, Mr. Pootie!”

“I’m sure he’s fine. Let’s get back to what happened between you and Tucker last night.” I shook my head as I glanced around the room for my clothes.

Dropping to my knees, I looked under the bed. “Why are we talking about Tucker? I have bigger problems.” Then I heard a male voice clear his throat. “Oh God,” I whispered. “He’s in the room, Terri. I’m naked! I can’t find my clothes.”

Terri laughed. “Okay, well, have fun. Tell Tucker I said hey.”

My brows furrowed, and I was about to say something when the line went dead. It was then I felt the change in the room, and everything from last night came crashing back into my poor brain, causing my head to pound harder. Slowly lifting up, I peered over the bed, only to find Tucker leaning up against the doorjamb. He wore a shit-eating grin on his face, and fuck me, he looked so gorgeous. Oh no. I swallowed hard. “Um . . . I can’t, um. Well, it appears I am . . . you see, I can’t find my, ahh . . . the dress I had on.” Jesus. Why do I act like an idiot around him? Why!

“Your clothes had throw up on them. They’re almost dry.”

My stomach dropped. “Did we . . . ?” H

e smiled. Full on dimples and all. God, I want him. Even in my current hungover condition, I’ve never wanted this man more than right now. Wait. No. I don’t! Yes . . . yes, you do. Crap. What if I already had him? And I don’t remember. I’m going to be so pissed off if we had sex and I don’t remember it. “No, we didn’t sleep together, and for the record, you got yourself undressed.”

Relaxing, I let out the breath I didn’t realize I held in.
