In To Seduce a Lady's Heart (Landon Sisters #3) by Ingrid Hahn, for the past ten years, Lord Jeremy Landon has been doing everything he can to right his uncle's wrongs. However, the last person he needs to make amends with is determined to ignore his plans for repaying his debt with money, and instead, forces him to marry. Marrying someone he knows nothing about wasn't in his plan, but he's determined to make the best of the situation he finds himself in. Will Jeremy be able to convince Lady Eliza Burke to give their marriage a chance, or will the lies be too much for Jeremy to handle?

What a delightful, fast-paced, riveting read Ms. Hahn has penned in this third book of her Landon sisters series where the characters were fascinating and had me hooked from the moment they were introduced into this story, as Eliza will do anything for her cousin and the hero will do anything to avoid another scandal for his family. The way this story started had me feeling sorry for the hero, because he's worked hard to make amends to all the people his uncle wronged. Yet, for some reason, there's someone that's determined to be unreasonable and accept what he's offering. What will it take to get this person to allow him to pay off his uncle's debt?

The dialogue had me hooked due to the heroine's feistiness and how she'll do anything for family, even if what she does has her at odds with the hero. She's had it tough growing up with her mother, and she's not about to let another person rule her life like her mother did. Certainly, Eliza is strong and brave in fighting for her freedom and doing what she does. She's also loyal and I liked the relationship she had with her cousin. Yet, what I liked most about the heroine was the challenge she provided the hero and how she won him over, despite how she tricked him and the fact that she thinks she's not worthy of love because of her past and her ex. While the hero, he's honorable, confident and I liked that he didn't give up on making things right when it came to the people his uncle did wrong by. I also liked how he won the heroine over, even though he makes a rather hasty decision towards the end that could cost him the love of the woman he's falling for. However, what I liked most of all is that he didn't allow Eliza's mom to interfere in their relationship and turn the pair against each other, despite the woman doing her best to persuade her daughter that she's too good for the hero.

Overall, Ms. Hahn has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry was strong and spilled over onto the pages in hot sex scenes that did this couple's chemistry justice. The way this story ended had me concerned for the hero, as the heroine isn't looking for a hero, but the hero is determined to do what he thinks is right for the woman he loves. No woman should ever have had to suffer the shame she's had for so long and the man that took advantage of her deserved to pay. Yet, what I liked most about the ending is how things turned out for Eliza and Jeremy. The couple's surprise was a good one, and I liked that it helped the heroine's mother be less hostile towards the hero. I would recommend To Seduce a Lady's Heart by Ingrid Hahn, if you enjoy Historical Romance, the mistaken identity trope or books by authors Callie Hutton, Jess Michaels, Diana Quincy or Lauren Smith.

SYNOPSIS:

Lord Jeremy Landon, Earl of Bennington, spent the last ten years rebuilding the ruined earldom he inherited from his scandal-ridden uncle. He has one final debt to repay. In lieu of money, though, he is manipulated into marrying a spinster…

Lady Eliza Burke is tired of living under the rule of a tyrannical mother. She’ll do anything to escape, even marry a man she doesn’t know—and a man her mother despises. Eliza doesn’t believe herself destined for love. Lord Bennington doesn’t believe he’s destined for happiness. Both are about to be tested by a scandal that could tear them apart forever.

BUY:

The fact remained, however, that she had deceived him. He’d married the wrong woman. Like she’d so aptly pointed out, he wasn’t about to seek an annulment. He’d bring no hint of scandal upon himself or his family. Ever. Not for any reason.

So they were stuck with each other.

“What else could you possibly need?”

“If you must know, only one thing comes to mind.”

“One thing?” She shook her head, frowning as if he were speaking in riddles she couldn’t puzzle out. “What’s that?”

“An heir.”
