Remington’s most notoriously single, notoriously sexy surgeon is about to fall for the one woman he can’t have…

Did I mention that she's A) his best friend, B) immune to his panty-melting charm, and C) sleeping on his couch for the next six weeks?

But Jonah’s not made for commitment, and a good man is the one thing Natalie deserves.

Not someone who can only offer up a couple of sizzling hot, no-strings-attached nights of pure pleasure. Unless that’s what she wants. Because Jonah wants her. And with each moment they spend working together—living together—the harder it is to resist temptation.

And even harder to resist the fall that might break them both…

A steamy medical contemporary romance from USA Today best-selling author Kimberly Kincaid. Watch this cocky hero fall head over scalpel for his sweet and sexy BFF. Full-length standalone story with action in the emergency room and the bedroom, and a sweet-and-sexy happily ever after.

In Better Than Me (Remington Medical #2) by Kimberly Kincaid, Jonah is a man that loves his space. However, when his best friend finds herself homeless, he reluctantly offers to let her stay. Yet, the more time he and Natalie spend together living in tight quarters, the more Jonah finds himself falling for the one woman he shouldn't fall in love with because he doesn't want to lose her friendship. Not when he's a man that doesn't do commitment. Will Natalie and Jonah give happy ever after between them a chance or will they lose their friendship?

What an absolutely captivating, emotionally-animated, superbly-crafted read Ms. Kincaid has delivered in this second book of her Remington Medical series encompassing compelling dialogue that had me reading quickly determined to discover whether this couple would be able to overcome the tough obstacles they face to be together; and remarkable characters whose back stories tugged at my heartstrings and had me enjoying Natalie's fight for independence and prove to her family that they don't need to be so overprotective.

With the main characters, I absolutely loved Jonah. He's one of the best heroes Ms. Kincaid has concocted. He's a good friend, hard-working and determined to help every patient that comes his way and it's understandable why he doesn't do relationships and commitment after what happened with his mom and dad and what happened with his last relationship. I also liked his determination to make things work with Natalie while she's staying with him, even though he's a man that likes his space. While Natalie, she's been through so much and goes through so much in this book that made my heart break for her. Why does life have to be so unfair? However, in saying that, she's strong, brave, kind, caring, a good doctor and I liked that she gave Jonah a chance, even knowing he doesn't do commitment and she wants forever love. Really, she's such a romantic at heart.

Overall, Ms. Kincaid has delivered a remarkable and emotional read in this book which had me smiling, laughing and crying at various moments throughout this story; the chemistry between this couple was potent and believable; the romance was delightful and had me loving these two together, as Jonah needs Natalie in his life; and the ending had me crying happy tears because of Jonah's determination to fight for his relationship with Natalie. He's not giving up on her and isn't about to let her get away, even though she's afraid he might lose her because of the battle she faces. Will everything be all right? However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up perfectly, as we get to know a bit more about Connor, which should make things interesting for the next book because it's clear he has secrets that he doesn't want anyone to discover. I would recommend Better Than Me by Kimberly Kincaid, if you enjoy the friends to lovers trope, the opposites attract trope, the temporary roommate trope, or books by authors Avery Flynn, Erin Nicholas, Catherine Bybee and Jennifer Blackwood.
