In Walk on By (Passing Through #3) by Sarah Hegger, Kelly Ashford has always wanted to get back together with her high school sweetheart. However, he was married and now he's not. Except she's finding herself distracted by someone else and that's Gabe Crowe. But he's not staying in town and she deserves a shot at happy ever after. Will Gabe stay or will he break Kelly's heart?

I have loved this series right from the beginning and Kelly has been an absolute hoot with her feistiness and the way she isn't afraid to speak her mind whenever someone is being a total jerk. The way this story started drew me into the story immediately and made me want to read more and more because of the main characters interesting back stories; their growing relationship, which showed this pair have amazing chemistry; and the dialogue was so entertaining that I couldn't put this book down. Not only because of the interactions between the main characters but because of their interactions with the secondary characters as well.

Overall, Ms. Hegger has delivered another wonderful read for this series where the main characters have some tough obstacles to overcome, but I loved how they overcame each and every one; and the ending warmed my heart and has me looking forward to more books by this incredible author. I would recommend Walk on By by Sarah Hegger, if you enjoy small town romances, the friends to lovers trope or books by authors Tara Cromer, Donna Kauffman, Erin Nicholas and Marina Adair.

Author Bio

Born British and raised in South Africa, Sarah Hegger suffers from an incurable case of wanderlust. Her match? A hot Canadian engineer, whose marriage proposal she accepted six short weeks after they first met. Together they’ve made homes in seven different cities across three different continents (and back again once or twice). If only it made her multilingual, but the best she can manage is idiosyncratic English, fluent Afrikaans, conversant Russian, pigeon Portuguese, even worse Zulu and enough French to get herself into trouble.

Mimicking her globe trotting adventures, Sarah’s career path began as a gainfully employed actress, drifted into public relations, settled a moment in advertising, and eventually took root in the fertile soil of her first love, writing. She also moonlights as a wife and mother.

She currently lives in Colorado with her teenage daughters, two retrievers and aforementioned husband. Part footloose buccaneer, part quixotic observer of life, Sarah’s restless heart is most content when reading or writing books.
