A popular, young royal couple can't produce an heir? INCONCEIVABLE!

When Ozarks native Hatty goes “whole hog” during karaoke, she catches the eye of Prince John. He isn’t what she expects the heir to a small European nation to be: he's affable, witty, and isn’t put off by her tell-it-like-it-is demeanor. Their flirtation should be short lived, but a force stronger than fate—Hatty’s newspaper editor—assigns her to cover the royals. After spending time together, she and John soon begin dating, and Hatty finds herself making headlines instead of writing them.

But challenges loom that are even more complicated than figuring out how to mesh Hatty's journalism career with life at Belvoir Palace. Hatty and John soon find themselves embroiled in an unusual sex scandal: they can't produce an heir. Tabloids dub Hatty a “Barren-ess,” and the royals become irate. Hatty politely tells them to shove it. But beneath her confident exterior, she struggles to cope with a heartbreak that invades her most intimate moments with John. Pressured to choose between invasive medical procedures and abandoning John’s claim to the throne, the couple feels trapped until a trip to Ethiopia shows them happy endings sometimes arrive long after saying “I do.”

He leaned closer and sang softly. I recognized the opening lyrics to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” His singing voice was soulful and sexy, and something deep inside me responded, making my heart beat a little faster.
He stopped and looked me in the eyes. “That song’s about someone who’s alone. But that’s not you. You’re too lovely to be lonely.”
A nervous laugh escaped my lips. “Are you kidding? Aren’t we sitting in a sanctuary for the lonely?”
“I don’t feel lonely right now.”
“Me either.” I blew into my mug, then took a sip. “Have you had one of these?”
“I don’t think so. What is it?”
“It’s called a chocolate kiss. It’s peppermint schnapps and hot cocoa.”
He reached over and picked up the steaming mug. His movement conveyed authority while his neat fingernails screamed uppity. They looked better than mine, damn it. After taking a long pull from the cup, he handed it back. Our fingers brushed together, sending a flash of heat through my body.
“Thanks for sharing a kiss with me,” he said, reaching over and lifting my chin.
Our eyes met, and I couldn’t tear myself away from his gaze. Yowza. Was he going to kiss me? Did I want him to?
“You guys know each other?”
I flinched at Plato’s words―I hadn’t seen him coming toward us―and pulled back. I sloshed a healthy dollop of my drink onto Farmer Joe’s pants. We both reached for the stack of napkins, but I got there first.
“Sorry. Here, let me,” I sputtered, dabbing at the wet patch.
I blotted along his pants, and my hand moved a little too close to the inside of his leg. A burning sensation rose up behind my ears. “Umm. I’ll just let you do it.”
I dropped the wad of damp napkins onto his open palm. Glancing at his face, I saw a half smile. I closed my eyes and touched my forehead, gently rubbing the area above my eyebrows as I always did when embarrassment overwhelmed me.

“There is nothing personal between us.”
“I beg to differ. In fact, I’m fairly certain I know your deepest, darkest secret.”

“I sincerely doubt that.”
He brought his mouth to her ear. “You knew I wasn’t Paul.”

“No.” The denial, though immediate, sounded slightly breathless, slightly desperate.
She had to have at least suspected, at some point. He refused to believe otherwise. “Not at first. But when I had you clinging to the tables, trembling so hard you could barely stand? You knew.”

“You-you’re delusional. If I’d realized you weren’t Paul, don’t you think I would have stopped you?”
“No. By the time you realized, you didn’t care.” The crowd around them erupted into a countdown.

Ten... He cupped her jaw in one hand...Nine... and slid the other down her back. Then lower. Eight... “You didn’t care about anything except my tongue tracing the path of your thong”—he let his fingers do the honor now—“all the way down until I could taste your sweet, throbbing little—”
“I thought you were Paul!” Her wide eyes darted to his, pupils huge.
Five... “Remember how you used your body to beg for more? There’s no f-ing way you’ve ever begged like that for Paul Barrington. No f-ing way. I could have you begging again.”
Her breathing came in quick, shallow pants. The hands she’d rested lightly on his shoulders tightened, bunching his jacket in a white-knuckled grip. She shook her head. “Not going to happen.”
Three... He was risking getting his face slapped in the middle of a dance floor on New Year’s Eve, but he didn’t care. For some inexcusable reason, he needed to know she wanted him, not Barrington.
Two... He spread his palm over the perfect curve of her ass and hauled her against him, so she’d feel just how well he remembered every damn detail of their last meeting.
One...
“It’s not?” he challenged, and then crushed her lips under his.
Cheers of “Happy New Year” echoed around them over the strains of “Auld Lang Syne.” A flotilla of black and silver balloons sailed down from the ceiling. Guests laughed, and sang, and jostled them while he kissed her. Sparkly, star- shaped confetti rained over everyone and everything, and he kept right on kissing her. Her arms twined around his neck. Her lips parted. She flattened one hand against the back of his head and held on. When he bent her over his arm and swept his tongue into her soft, yielding mouth, she wrapped her leg around his hip. The heat of her body practically seared his thigh through his tuxedo pants.
He trapped her lower lip between his teeth and nibbled. There went his no biting promise, but her shuddery moan told him she didn’t mind.
The song ended. The house lights came up a few notches. He slowly drew her upright, and even more slowly relinquished her mouth. She stared up at him, dazed, her lips plumped from their kiss.
“You’re a terrible liar, Miss Wayne.”
Giving her a grin he hoped didn’t reveal how much the move cost him, he walked away.

Thanks so much for having me at Book Magic to reveal my top 5 favorite teasers from my new Brazen, Compromising Her Position. I don’t think these require much set-up, but I’ll start by explaining my characters, Rafe and Chelsea, meet in an epic case of mistaken identity when he’s recruited to stand-in as Santa at the office holiday party, (imagine David Gandy in the iconic red suit), and she shoves this wrong Santa into a supply closet and wishes him a Merry Christmas that’s definitely NSFW!

Let’s step into the closet for Teaser #1, shall we?

“Hurry,” Chelsea whispered. “There’s not much time.”

Spurred on by her own warning, she twisted away and bent over the stack of tables to scramble for the little packet of condoms in her purse. Dammit, she couldn’t reach it. She leaned over as far as she dared, and stretched. Her fingertips grazed the bag, and… “Ohmigod!”

Swift fists yanked her skirt up around her waist. Bare hands clamped on her hips, and a hot mouth trailed over her backside. Her leg muscles dissolved. What was he doing to her?

Not bestowing gentle little kisses. Uh-uh. Whatever he was up to involved lips, tongue, and—sweet mercy—teeth. The faux beard tickled her, but she couldn’t blame her restlessness on the props. He was the one making her squirm. Him.

Not ready to leave the closet yet? No problem. We’ll stay put for #Teaser #2!

His mouth roamed lower, and any remaining questions flew out of her mind, along with her sense of propriety and every ounce of her dignity. She arched her back and lifted up onto her tiptoes, praying he could reach the spot that craved his attention from this position. And then he angled his head, and…Oooooh, thank you Santa for your fast, merciless tongue… Air rushed out of her lungs. She must have made a noise, because a stern, “Shhh” reached her ears.

For Teaser #3, I’m taking you to New Year’s Eve, and Rafe calling bullshit on Chelsea…

“You knew I wasn’t Paul.” She had to have at least suspected. He refused to believe otherwise.

“No.” The denial, though immediate, sounded slightly breathless, slightly desperate.

“Not at first. But when I had you clinging to the tables, trembling so hard you could barely stand? You knew.”

“No. By the time you realized, you didn’t care.” And he was risking getting his face slapped in the middle of a dance floor on New Year’s Eve, but he didn’t care. They had that in common.
The crowd around them erupted into a countdown.

Ten… He cupped her jaw in one hand…

Nine… and slid the other down her back.

Eight… “You didn’t care about anything except my tongue tracing the path of your thong”—he let his fingers do the honor now—“all the way down until I could taste your sweet, throbbing little—”

Three… He pulled her closer.

Two… Spread his palm over the perfect curve of her ass and hauled her against him, so she’d feel just how well he remembered every damn detail of their last meeting.

One…“Never?” he challenged, and then crushed her lips under his.

Cheers of, “Happy New Year” echoed around them over the strains of Auld Lang Syne.

“You’re a terrible liar, Miss Wayne.”

For Teaser #4…well…rules are rules!

“There you go, breaking the rules again. I’ve figured out something about you Miss Wayne.”

“You think so?” Those big, brown eyes flashed with impatience.

“What happened in the closet wasn’t a wayward impulse. You secretly like breaking the rules.” As he spoke, he dipped his fingers into his drink, and then traced the v of her thong. She shivered when drops of the cold liquor rolled down her skin, then shivered again as he followed the wet trails with his fingertips. Her eyelids drooped, and she murmured, “Maybe.”

He stilled his hand. She lifted her hips, seeking his touch.

“Sometimes when you break the rules, you get punished.”

Don’t you love a man who knows how to apologize? Yep, I thought so. Enjoy teaser #5!

“What are you doing?”

He held back a laugh and bestowed a kiss high on the inside of one thigh. “Apologizing.” So saying, he opened the nightstand drawer and took out a tube of Tradewinds’ Tropical Passion Edible Massage Gel.

She propped herself up on her elbows. “We charge sixty dollars for that stuff.”

“You can’t put a price on forgiveness.” He kissed the other thigh.

“I forgive you.”

“I’m afraid I can’t accept words.” He lubed his fingers. “Now, tell me where it hurts. Here? Or here?” He drew a leisurely figure eight, around and around, until her head dropped back.

“That feels like heaven. I definitely forgive you.”

“I need to know your forgiveness runs deep. I need to hear it ringing in my ears. I need to taste it.”

“Oh, God…"

His first long, slow, apology had her grabbing fistfuls of his hair. The second loosened her tongue. “I forgive you. Completely. I swear.”

He kept the apologies coming, slow and steady, until she planted her feet on his shoulders and lifted her hips. Signal received. He apologized faster, and faster still when her heels dug into his collarbones like stirrups. She practically levitated with forgiveness.

Seconds later, she stiffened, threw her head back and granted him something that sounded like complete and total absolution.

Hope my teasers brought a smile, (and a blush), to your face! Happy holidays, my lovelies.

REVIEW: KISSING HER CRUSH by OPHELIA LONDON

In Kissing her Crush (Sugar City #2) by Ophelia London, finally receiving grant money, which will maybe help her prove that her chocolate recipe can cure depression in teenagers, Natalie Holden finds there's a problem that comes along with it. She's going to need to defend her research, and convince the person sent to report her findings that her project is sound. That it could work. However, when she learns that Luke Elliott is the man that has been sent to oversee her study and report back, Natalie knows it's going to be hard to stay focused, especially when she'd had a crush on him for a long time.

Ms. London always manages to entertain me with her books, and Kissing her Crush was an incredibly sweet, captivating read. Although it starts off a little slow, I liked how the pace picked up once the hero was introduced, and kept me entertained all the way to the end with its teasing dialogue between Luke and Natalie, and the accidents that occurred at various times when they kissed.

I really enjoyed both characters. They have a bit of history that has left Natalie with feelings of insecurity, because Luke doesn't remember the time they spent together. She's also sassy, smart and determined to prove her research to Luke, for personal reasons involving a member of her family. But more than anything she has a big heart, and thinks she needs to take care of everyone. While Luke, he's not a fan of relationships after what his ex-wife did, and yet, Natalie seems good for him. Capable of changing his mind in more ways than one as she fights for her study to be accepted. The way Natalie challenges him to the point where an argument ensues gave me a few laughs.

Overall, this book was really good, and Ms. London wrapped it up nicely with Luke proving his love for Natalie by doing something she never expected, but which helped her immensely with her study. I would recommend this story if you enjoy sweet reads where the characters challenge each other while having lots of fun.

He’s sweet trouble...

Natalie Holden wants three things: To be the best chocolate chemist in Hershey, Pennsylvania, to prove her chocolate recipe can help teenage depression, and to get over gorgeous Luke Elliott, the guy she’s had a crush on since birth. Unfortunately, he’s the microbiologist set to debunk her chocolate study. And, of course, he looks more delicious than ever!

Luke Elliott is still bitter over his divorce. Work is his passion now, and landing a huge promotion is just what he needs. What he doesn’t need is a crackpot trying to prove that chocolate cures depression. The last thing he expects is for the crackpot to be Natalie Holden—his “what if” girl from high school—or that she’d still tempt the hell out of him.

They may not see eye-to-eye on her project, but they can’t deny the explosive chemistry that keeps pulling them together. Even when it risks their jobs and the very different futures they both want…

REVIEW: FALLING FOR THE ENEMY by VICTORIA JAMES

In Falling for her Enemy (Still Harbor #2) by Victoria James, Alex McAllister doesn't find it easy to trust after being abandoned by those that are supposed to love her unconditionally. So, when Hayden Brooks arrives in town claiming he's her adopted daughter's biological father, she doesn't know what to do except try to stay away from him. Especially when he could destroy not only the happy life she's built with her daughter, but could also break her heart.

I loved the first book of this series, and this one was just as incredible with it's sweet, fast-paced plot, encompassing a wounded heroine afraid to lose the most important person in her life, and a hero determined to prove that she can trust someone outside of her family. As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the heroine's back story. But it also provided fun, light moments between Alex and Hayden, or either of them with Cassy, the little girl that has brought so much happiness to Alex's life.

Both characters were amazing, and proved hard not to like. My heart broke for the heroine as her back story was tragic, and it was understandable  why she found it hard to trust Hayden, even though it seemed she wanted to because, of their intense chemistry and the kind, caring way he treated her daughter. Alex is independent, hard-working, and kind-hearted. That it was no wonder she adopted a child since she had so much love to give, and proved that, by trying to provide the best possible life for her daughter. While Hayden, he's honorable, assertive, and isn't afraid to push Alex to get her to see reason when she's being difficult. Because he needs to know whether Cassy is his biological daughter.

Overall, I loved this book and how every time they bantered -- whether it was friendly or not -- increased the sexual tension. It made for a fun yet highly emotional tale that has me looking forward to the next story in the series. As there was an interesting development with Cara -- one of Alex's sisters -- in this one. I would definitely recommend this book, if you've read the first in the series (Kate & Matt's story - Falling for the P.I.), or if you enjoy highly emotional reads.
