Raven:

I’ve spent my life depending on one person: myself. I’ve learned the hard way other people will only let me down. I’ve worked for everything I have, but thanks to my drug-addicted mother, I’m about to lose the one thing I’ve craved for years. Needing to make some extra cash, I ask my boss at Restrained Fantasies, a Dallas BDSM club, for some extra shifts. Much to my chagrin, Master Carter Burkes is with him, and Carter leaps to my rescue, bound and determined to save me—only I’m not the kind of girl who needs to be saved.

Carter:

I can’t sit by while Raven, a recurring figure in my fantasies, is in trouble. My job as a detective keeps me busy, but I’m not looking for a relationship, just a sub to assist with a class I’m teaching: Reading Your Submissive. Raven always claimed she wasn’t a member of the lifestyle, so imagine my surprise when I discover a budding submissive inside her. She gets under my skin in ways I can’t fight, but emotions are dangerous. I learned that the hard way. Is getting close to Raven a mistake? Will I destroy her life like I destroyed the life of the only woman I’ve ever loved?

This is book two in the Restrained Fantasies series but can be read as a standalone.

Publisher’s Note: This romance is intended for adults only. It contains elements of danger, suspense, mystery, BDSM, sensual scenes, romance and adult language. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase.

Carter did a double-take.

Raven stepped into the dungeon anxious out of her mind. She stood with her arms crossed, her spine as rigid as the stone walls surrounding them. She was fidgety too, both hands and feet, as if she were fighting the urge to run, and her soulful eyes were dark, pupils wide, and swimming with fear. None of her anxiety, however, affected him more potently than the sight of her decked out in full bondage gear.

Be still his throbbing dick.

A blood-red corset wrapped her torso, accentuating her curvy figure and lifting her breasts to a point where they commanded absolute respect and undivided attention. On her feet, she wore a pair of black combat boots with a flair of decoration; sexy leather-and-rivet straps wrapped the ankle. Talk about submissive perfection.

It was the parts between the corset and the boots, however, which drove him to the outer edges of sanity. A cutoff jean skirt showed off thick, powerful legs wrapped in wide fishnet stockings. The ensemble played with his mind, and the black four-poster bed behind her only added to the picture.

She was a fucking powerhouse. What would those strong legs feel like locked around his waist as he rammed into her? The mere thought had his cock swelling to full attention behind the zipper of his leathers.

This would be an agonizingly long class.

Adjusting himself before taking a step, his boots soft against the tile floor, Carter went to her. “Wow. Just… wow. You look positively edible.”

A smile broke through her obvious discomfort. “Thanks. Viv took me shopping. I wasn’t sure I could pull this off, but she insisted.”

“And I’m so very glad she did.” He made a twirl-for-me motion with his index finger. “Turn. I want to see the back.”

She hesitated a few heartbeats before complying, and he had to bite his lower lip to keep from groaning. He’d always admired her ass when she’d been behind the relative safety of the bar. He’d ordered many a drink for the sole purpose of making her squat and stretch to reach seldom-used bottles of alcohol, putting her round ass on full display, but now, no bar stood between them, just a small swath of skin-tight denim.

“I’m going to touch you,” he said matter-of-factly as he stepped around her and stood toe-to-toe. “Before anyone gets here, so you can, at least, feel a little more comfortable with me and your role in class.”

Yeah, comfort was the reason he wanted to touch her.

About the Author:
Brandi Evans was raised by a caravan of traveling Gypsies. She spent her days learning the ways of her people and her nights lost in legends as old as time. Okay, not really, but that's way more interesting than the truth!

In reality, Brandi grew up the oldest child of an ordinary family. Grade school, middle school, high school. Nothing extraordinary happened until she left the nest. She joined the military, went to college, got married, and became a mom. And somewhere along the way, she discovered she liked to read—and write!—stories hot enough to melt eReaders.

REVIEW: LEGAL SEDUCTION by LISA CHILDS

Legal Seduction

Harlequin Dare

“You are mine for the next two weeks.”
Resigning might be the sexiest thing she’s ever done…

Quitting her job puts executive assistant Bette Monroe in a very compromising position. She has ten days left, and powerhouse lawyer Simon Kramer is working her late into the night…and seducing her into oblivion! While he’s convinced she’s selling business secrets, the bombshell secret she’s keeping would shock him more. Does she bare all…or keep him guessing?

Available at:  Harlequin  |  Amazon  |  Barnes and Noble  |  Kobo  |  iTunes

In Legal Seduction (Legal Lovers #1) by Lisa Childs, Bette Monroe is finally moving on from her job working for powerhouse lawyer Simon Kramer, but once she gives her notice she's still got ten days left. It's not easy being around Simon, but as the days go by, Lisa finds herself giving into temptation. But when Lisa discovers the reason of Simon's pursuit of her, will she give him a chance to explain, or will away from their chance at happy ever after?

What an enjoyable read Ms. Childs has delivered in this first book of her Legal Lovers series where the hero and his friends have done well for themselves, but could be in for the fight of their lives when it comes to their careers if they don't discover the identity of their company's mole quickly; the heroine is finally seeing her dreams come to fruition in the fashion world; the dialogue was entertaining, as the hero is determined to seduce Lisa to discover what she's hiding; and the obstacles these two face together were tough, but had me liking how this couple overcame each one including whether the heroine will be able to forgive the hero.

Both the main characters were very likeable and I loved this couple together, as they have plenty of chemistry that spills over onto the pages in steamy sex scenes. Moreover, the heroine was strong and brave when it comes to the moment where she feels betrayed and I liked that she wasn't afraid to stand up for herself when it came to the accusations. While the hero, he's confident, cocky and I liked how determined he was to win the heroine over. I also liked that he stood up to his friends for Lisa, as he begins to realize that maybe he's wrong. Will he get the answers he needs?

Overall, Ms. Childs has delivered a really good read in this book where the ending had me liking what the hero's friends do. No way could they continue to see Simon in misery after this couple's relationship goes awry. I would recommend Legal Seduction by Lisa Childs, if you enjoy boss-employee romances or books by authors Clare Connelly, Anne Marsh, JC Harroway and Katee Robert.

REVIEW: A WEEK TO BE WILD by JC HARROWAY

A Week to be Wild
By JC Harroway
Releasing February 1st, 2018
Harlequin Dare

Harlequin DARE, a new romance series featuring strong, independent women and sizzling hot heroes. Harlequin DARE stories push the boundaries of sexual explicitness while keeping the focus on the developing romantic relationship.

Libby Noble is done with men who live on the edge, but sexy British billionaire Alex coaxes her out of her comfort zone—professionally and very personally! She’ll agree to play his game…but only by her rules!

Available at:  Harlequin  |  Amazon  |  Barnes and Noble  |  Kobo  |  iTunes

In A Week to be Wild by JC Harroway, losing her fiancé was hard for Libby Noble and it's made her wary of men that live life like it's one big adventure. However, when she strikes a deal with British Billionaire Alex Lancaster, she finds herself being coaxed out of her comfort zone. There's just one thing she wants...and that's to be able to remain in control at all times. Will Libby be able to move on from the lose of her fiancé to give Alex and her a shot at happy ever after, or will she run scared from another chance at love and happiness?

What an enjoyable and engaging read this author has delivered in this book where the main characters back stories, especially that of the heroine, had me hoping she'd give the hero a chance; the dialogue was riveting and had me really liking this couple together, as the heroine needed to be pushed out of her comfort zone in order to heal from her past; and the fast-paced storyline had me hooked due to the obstacles these two have to overcome to be together. Will the hero and heroine be able to help each other heal from the losses they've suffered in their pasts?

I really liked both the main characters, and I could understand why the heroine was running scared when it comes to the hero's need for adventure and his reckless ways. However, in saying that, I liked Libby's resilience and her determination to take a chance on the hero, as she conquers a lot more than I thought she would when it comes to the adventures the hero takes her on; adventures I thought she'd never have anything to do with after how she lost someone she loved. While the hero, he's used to getting what he wants and I liked how much the heroine challenged him. I also liked that he was willing to play by the heroine's rules, even though it's hard for him to do so since he likes being the one in charge. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was that he was willing to accept the heroine's advice when it came to his family situation, as he needed to repair his relationship with his mom.

Overall, this story was a really good read where the chemistry between this couple was heady and intense; the romance was fan-your-face hot; and the ending had me cheering for this couple's happy ever after, as the heroine needs the hero just as much as he needs her to be able to heal from the wounds of their pasts. I would recommend A Week to be Wild by JC Harroway, if you enjoy the mysterious strangers trope or books by authors Anne Marsh, Jackie Ashenden, Lisa Childs and Clare Connelly.
