Forgiven
Nash Brothers #2
By Carrie Aarons
Releasing April 11th, 2019
Self-Published

In a split-second, a car crash killed almost everything between them. Ten years later, can one accidental ride fix tattered spirits, uncertain futures, and broken hearts?

Lily Grantham has always done what she’s been told. The daughter of a senator, she grew up as the good girl of Fawn Hill, and carried that torch right on through to adulthood. Her only wild streak? Bowen Nash. She loved that boy since the day they laid eyes on each other, and it nearly ended them both. A decade later, and Lily still can’t move on. Even if Bowen has made it clear he doesn’t love her anymore.

Bowen Nash never wanted the life he’s trapped in. Destined for baseball fame and the love of his high-school sweetheart, that existence vanished in the flip of an old pickup. Now, he’s stuck in the town that produced his worst nightmare. Pretending to hate Lily Grantham guts him day in and day out. But to protect her from the ultimate secret, it’s necessary to break his own heart each time they pass on the street.

They’ve been fighting fate for as long as it’s been chasing them. And now, time is up.

In Forgiven (Nash Brothers #2) by Carrie Aarons, ten years ago a terrible accident tore Bowen Nash and Lily Grantham's relationship apart. Living in the same town has been torture for both, especially when Lily doesn't understand why their relationship went wrong in the first place. Now, ten years later, Lily is still finding it hard to move on since Bowen is the only man she'll ever love. Will she fight for a relationship with Bowen or will the secret Bowen has kept from her for so long tear them apart for good?

What an emotionally-charged, fast-paced, wonderfully-engaging read Ms. Aarons has delivered in this second book of her Nash Brothers series, which can easily be read as a stand-alone; and encompasses a wonderful array of characters in both the main and secondary, compelling dialogue that made me smile and cry, and tough obstacles for these two to overcome because of Bowen's secret. Will the heroine finally learn the truth? How will Lily react if she learns the truth?

With the main characters, I really felt for Lily because she's been the dutiful daughter for so long and it's hard not for her to fall in line. Yet, I liked that she finally began to realize that things needed to change, if she's to finally move on from Bowen or for the pair to find their way back to each other. Furthermore, the heroine is strong and brave because of everything she's been through and everything that's thrown her way throughout this story that makes her fight for what she wants. While the hero, I couldn't help but sympathize with him because of his secret and the fact that he's been caught between a rock and a hard place for ten years. His need to protect Lily is honorable, which I love about him because he doesn't want Lily hurt by those that are supposed to protect her. Yet, I found he could be a real jerk sometimes in order to make Lily keep her distance, no matter how necessary the things he says are needed to stop him from getting close to the woman he's always loved -- and still loves -- again.

Overall, Ms. Aarons has delivered a really good read in this book that has made me want to go read the first book of this series; and where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance was heart-warming, as these two find their way back to each other and overcome the tough obstacles they face to be together; and the ending had me so happy because of the choices Lily makes to fight for her future with Bowen because they're meant to be and shouldn't let anything keep them apart any longer. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up nicely, as these two are so happy together and deserve every bit of happiness they've found this time around. I would recommend Forgiven by Carrie Aarons, if you enjoy second chance romances, the enemy to lovers trope or books by authors Staci Lynn, Pippa Grant, Piper Rayne and Elle Kennedy.

BLOG TOUR - REVIEW: TEMPTING LOVE by KELLY ELLIOTT

Tempting Love
Cowboys & Angels #3
By Kelly Elliott
Releasing January 30th, 2018
Self-Published

Can a woman actually make you feel like you’re losing your damn mind? Yes. If she is Corina Miller. The only woman who has ever made me long for something more, and let me tell you, that has me all kinds of messed up. After months of ignoring my feelings, it’s clear to me I’ve fallen for those piercing blue eyes and sexy smile. But is it too late? Have I pushed her into the arms of someone else? Hell no am I letting that happen. I’m on a mission to win the heart of the only woman I’ve ever cared about—and the only thing standing in my way is one stubborn and pissed off Corina. I always did like a challenge.

In Tempting Love (Cowboys and Angels #3) by Kelly Elliott, Mitchell Parker shared a fantastic night with Corina Miller, but ran scared when he realized how deep his feelings were for her. But now, he's determined to make things right between them, and when she becomes homeless, Mitchell offers her a place to stay because it's the perfect opportunity to get her alone in hopes she'll give him another chance. Will Corina give Mitchell a chance to make things right between them, or will the pair go their separate ways?

This is another fantastic addition to this series, even though I was left with unanswered questions when it came to a couple of things that happened through this story. Who wrote a certain message on the wall? What came of the murders that were talked about? However, in saying that, this story was very engaging; had me completely hooked from beginning to end due to the main characters back stories, their growing relationship and every interaction between the hero and heroine as well as between the main and secondary characters that has left me so looking forward to the next instalment of this series.

The way this story started with the prologue had me wondering whether Mitchell will realize how much Corina means to him before it's too late. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time since their one-night together that had me liking that Corina doesn't make things easy for Mitchell, especially not after everything he's put her through. How long will it take Mitchell to win Corina over? W

Both the main characters are relatable, likeable and have such strong chemistry between them that had me reading quickly, determined to discover how long it would take for Mitchell to win Corina back since their chemistry seems impossible to ignore. Moreover, the heroine was strong and brave when it came to dealing with things that happen such as the loss of her home and things that the hero has to tell her in case the situation escalates. I also liked that she gave Mitchell a second chance, because he so deserves one after realizing that he can't go on like he's been going on. While the hero, he has some big decisions to make and I liked the ones he did make when it came to his job and his future with Corina. I also liked the little bit of competition the hero had in someone vying for the heroine's affections, because he deserved it after everything he's put the heroine through in running scared. However, what I liked most of all about the hero was the tight bond he shares with his family and that they aren't afraid to offer him advice when they think he's being stupid.

Overall, Ms. Elliott has delivered a wonderful read in this book where the dialogue between either main character and the secondary characters in the Parker siblings had me smiling or laughing because of many of the conversations; the very steamy sex scenes did justice to this couple's intense chemistry; and the ending had me loving that these two finally managed to get their happy ever after. All I'll say is - what an adventure their relationship has been and will continue to be. I would recommend Tempting Love by Kelly Elliott, if you enjoy second chance romances or books by authors Melanie Harlow, Vi Keeland, Penelope Ward and Katy Evans.

I followed him, my hands shaking as I grew angrier by the second. “That’s it? You’re going to let me move out?”
Mitchell reached for his keys, then turned to me. “I can’t force you to stay here, Corina. If you’re unhappy, then yes, you should leave. Do I want you to? No, I don’t. I know I fucked up, but if you’re going to throw it in my face every goddamn chance you get, then you’re right, this won’t work.”
He headed to the stairs that led down to his front door. My heart raced, and I knew I couldn’t leave it like this. Closing my eyes, I called out to him. “Mitch! You never asked me to the Pecan Street Honky Tonk.”
Stopping, he looked back up at me. “What?”
I swallowed hard and took in a quick breath. “The dance, you never asked me. And well, Lane asked me.”
Sadness swept over his face. “What did you tell him?”
Wringing my hands together, I answered, “I haven’t responded…yet. I was waiting for you.”
Mitchell rushed back up the steps and stopped in front of me. I don’t think I’d ever felt my stomach dip like it did when he raced toward me. He cupped my face and leaned in. My chest rose and fell with each breath as I waited for him to speak. His touch sent a flurry of butterflies through my chest.
“Corina, will you go with me to the street dance next weekend?”
My teeth sank into my lip, and I watched as his eyes filled with lust.
“Yes.” I smiled and added, “But only as friends.”
The corner of his mouth rose into a sexy smirk. God, how I loved that smile of his. “It’s a date, then.”
“As friends,” I added.
He leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. Before I could even process his lips, they were gone and he was stepping back. “I’ll take it. For now.”
