Until You're Mine
Fighting for Her #1
By Cindi Madsen
Releasing January 22nd, 2018
Entangled Publishing

You might’ve heard of me, Shane Knox, the guy who rose quickly through the MMA fighter ranks, only to crash just as fast. No one cares about personal reasons when it comes to losing fights and money. I’m determined to get back to where I was. For you to hear my name again. I’ve finally convinced the owner of Team Domination to take a chance and get me back in fighting—and winning—shape. What I didn’t bargain for is the guy’s spitfire of a daughter. Factor in her two professional-fighter brothers who are acting as my coaches and the fact that my career hangs in the balance, and Brooklyn’s the last girl I should be fantasizing about.   The closer we get, the more I want Brooklyn. The stakes are high, and I know there’s a big chance of both of us getting hurt, but I won’t stop until she’s mine.

In Until You're Mine (Fighting for Her #1) by Cindi Madsen, Shane Knox was one of the best MMA fighters until personal reasons caused him to crash and burn. Now though, he's determined to get back to tip-top shape and back in the cage and doesn't have time for distractions. Yet, there's something about Brooklyn Roth that makes him want to make her his. Will Brooklyn give him a chance, or are their dreams too important for either of them to compromise for a chance at happy ever after?

In my opinion, this is by far one of Ms. Madsen's best books. It had everything I love in a contemporary romance such as incredible characters that have some tough obstacles to overcome because they both want to make their dreams come true; entertaining dialogue that had me loving how confident the hero was in his determination to win over the heroine; and a great opening chapter that had me liking the heroine immediately, as it's not easy for her to be back with her family and at the gym that has always seemed more important to her father than his own daughter. Will her father see the error of his ways?

Both the main characters were compelling due to their back stories, their playful banter and this couple's romance that was filled with plenty of heat and passion. Moreover, the heroine is resilient in her desire to fulfil her dreams and I liked that she stood up for what she wanted for her life. I also liked the tight bond she shares with her brothers with one being the fun brother and the other being the more serious brother that offers support and is willing to stand up for her. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine is how much of a challenge she proved for the hero, as he tries his best to make her see how intense their chemistry is and that it's worth exploring.

While the hero, he's been through so much and his fall from the top to where he is now was hard to deal with, but I liked how hard he's worked to bounce back and get someone to take a chance on him again because he has the strength and determination to rise to the top again. I also liked his charm, his confidence and his determination towards everything he does whether it's being the best he can and doing everything he can to get back to the top or when it comes to winning the heroine's heart. And, of course, I can't forget to mention the close relationship he shares with his mother. She's so supportive of his MMA career, which is proven by her enthusiasm for when he's in the cage.

Overall, Ms. Madsen has delivered a must read in this book where the delicious romance does justice to this couple's powerful chemistry; the secondary characters in Brooklyn's brothers have me looking forward to more of this series; and the ending had me loving that nothing could keep these two apart and that both were willing to do anything to be together. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up wonderfully, because the hero and heroine have come so far in their relationship and their happiness is delightful. I would recommend Until You're Mine by Cindi Madsen, if you enjoy sports romance, the enemy to lovers trope, the opposites attract trope or books by authors Sarah Robinson, Sara Ney, Marquita Valentine and Lia Riley.

BLOG TOUR - REVIEW: THE ONE NIGHT STAND by ELIZABETH HAYLEY

The One Night Stand
The Players #3
By Elizabeth Hayley
Releasing December 12th, 2017
St. Martins Press

In The One Night Stand (The Players #3) by Elizabeth Hayley, Gabriel Torres hasn't been doing much since retiring from Major League Baseball, except taking over running the exclusive Players Club. However, it's not simple and easy like he thought it would be. Instead, he's got members he needs to keep happy and a club he needs to keep secret. Yet, when Rachel Adler -- a blast from Gabe's past -- begins sniffing around and doing everything she can to uncover information on the club, will she follow through with writing the story that could take her career to the next level; or will she do everything she can to protect Gabe, so they have a chance of happy ever after?

With the first two books being such enthralling reads and Gabe being -- in my opinion -- the best of the three friends who these books centre around -- I couldn't wait to dive into this story, and I've got to say that it does not disappoint. Really, right from the beginning, this story was very entertaining and the heroine's obsession with uncovering information for the story she's determined to write makes this story fast-paced, as I was determined to discover whether Rachel gets what she wants. Will she learn everything she needs to write the story of her career? However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time that had me reading quickly, determined to discover whether Gabe would be able to charm Rachel.

As for the main characters, their back stories, their past history and everything they go through in this story made them relatable and likeable, and the heroine was just as captivating as the hero. She's resilient, hard-working, tenacious and I loved the decision she made when it came to whether she was going to write the story of a lifetime. While the hero, he goes to a lot of trouble to show the heroine what his life is like after baseball, even though he's making things up as he goes to show his life isn't as boring as it seems. I also liked how charming the hero could be, the way he teases his two best friends and that he wasn't afraid to listen to the advice of his friends because he deserves to be just as happy as Ben and Jace are.

Overall, Ms. Hayley has delivered a fun and wonderful read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance full of exquisite heat and passion that shows how good these two are together; and the ending had me empathizing with the hero because of the discovery he makes about the heroine. Yet, in saying that, I liked how things worked out for the hero and heroine because Gabe knows his life will be better with Rachel than without. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up nicely, because Gabe and his friends have come a long way in being three professional athletes that weren't looking for love, but find it when they least expect it. I would recommend The One Night Stand by Elizabeth Hayley, if you enjoy sports romance, second chance romances or books by authors Sarina Bowen, Sawyer Bennett, Julie Brannagh and Shannon Richard.

Gabriel Torres thought his life after Major League Baseball would be simple and quiet, or at least quieter. However, as he takes over running the exclusive Players Club, he finds himself continually embroiled in scandal and drama. Surely nothing, and no one could make his life any crazier...Right?

Rachel Adler is a blast from Gabe’s past who crashed back into his life with the finesse of a freight train. But she's a welcome distraction. At least for a night.

Rachel has been working hard to become one of the top sports journalists in the country. She doesn't have time for a long-term romance or irresistibly charming baseball players. A one-night-stand with the man who she knew would hit it out of the park was all she wanted.

But when she gets a tip that Gabe could have ties to one of the biggest sports stories in history, a story that could make her career, Rachel decides that maybe she has a little time for the sexy baseball player after all. As she gets in deeper with both her story and Gabe, Rachel begins to question who she is, what she wants, and what exactly she’s willing to sacrifice for her career.

Will the potential grand-slam romance be stopped short or will Rachel and Gabe be able to go the distance?

“You have too many clothes on,” she said as Gabe nipped at her neck. “I agree. We should probably do something about that.”

“We definitely should,” Rachel replied. She’d barely gotten out the words before Gabe had her moving through his hotel room toward the tall king bed and placed her on it, letting her legs dangle over the sides as he backed away to pull his Commanders jersey off. She gave him this little grin as she brought a finger to her lip and bit on its edge. He wondered if she knew how hot she was--if the act was intentional. But truthfully it didn’t matter.

“Is it weird that I want to tell you how hot your chest is too?” she asked. The comment made Gabe smile as he popped the button of his jeans and unzipped them. He’d just begun to pull them down when Rachel said, “Leave them on.” Then she sat up and grabbed his waistband to pull him toward her. His erection, which was still straining against his jeans, perked up even further as Rachel’s lips slid over his lower abs. It was an image he’d file away in his brain for future use: her head moving near his cock as his fingers tangled with her dark hair. He let out a low groan when her hand pressed against his dick. She played with it over his pants for a while before pulling down the zipper the rest of the way and yanking down his boxers enough to free him. She stroked him a few times before

Gabe needed his lips back on hers. His thumb stroking her cheek as he kissed her. Her moans grew louder as he rubbed against her, but finally he was able to pull himself away from her long enough to undo her skinny jeans and slide them down her legs. Her thong was next, and he savored the visual as the black lace traced over her skin. He fished a condom from his wallet and tore it open. Squeezing himself as he rolled it on held back his orgasm. Jesus, he couldn't wait to be inside her. He hadn’t thought about her in a while, but God, when he used to think about her he’d imagine how warm and wet she was. And it was that thought that had him returning to her, guiding her down on the bed to he could press into her. Somehow all of his fantasies couldn't even come close to the real thing. Her legs wrapped around his ass as her nails dug into his jeans to guide him even deeper inside. Then they began to move together, their bodies responding to the other’s in a way that he wasn’t sure he’d experienced before.

She seemed to almost melt against him. The moans and choppy breaths that escaped her had him speeding up, though he didn’t exactly want this to end. He used his forearms to prop himself up so his weight wasn’t on her completely as he thrust into her. Her nails were on his back, scratching over his shoulder blades before sliding under his boxers. He tensed as her fingertips brushed over his ass, and he willed himself not to come anytime soon. He never thought he’d have Rachel Adler in his bed, and now that he did, he wanted it to be fucking memorable. And not just for him. He knew he’d never forget this. Though her legs were clamped around him, he pulled out almost completely and then drove back in. His thumb went to her clit the next time he withdrew, making her practically quiver beneath him. She was close, and he knew it. A few more steady thrusts into her had Rachel begging him not to pull out again. Her words only increased the pleasure of the moment for him, and he thought about how he’d never get enough of Rachel’s soft please.

“Please, Gabe. God, yes. Make me…” But she never finished her sentence before her body quaked with the orgasm that Gabe could feel too. Gabe continued to pound into her until her climax faded enough that he could speed up to find his own release. He wasn’t even sure what he said as he came, but whatever it was he couldn’t help it. It was probably the hardest he’d come in a while, and Rachel had been the one to make him do it. Jace wasn’t the only one who’d won tonight.

Elizabeth Hayley is actually "Elizabeth" and "Hayley," two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands' chagrin).

They live with their husbands and kids in a Philadelphia suburb. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.

Elizabeth Hayley's writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: "I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind."

BLOG TOUR - REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: SO OVER YOU by KATE MEADER

So Over You
Chicago Rebels #2

Pocket Star Books

In So Over You (Chicago Rebels #2) by Kate Meader, Isobel Chase was going places in the National Women's Hockey League until a horrible accident ended her career. Now though, she's determined to help her sisters lead the Chicago Rebels to the playoffs, even if it means giving extra coaching sessions to Vadim Petrov to whip him back into tip-top shape after his injury and bad season that ended with him being traded to a team in trouble. Will Vadim be able to win both the girl and help his new team get to where they need to be in the standings, or will one wrong move cause Isobel and Vadim to go their separate ways?

Having absolutely loved the first book of this series where Isobel was reunited with her two estranged sisters, I couldn't wait to dive into this book and it was everything I'd hoped for and more. Not only because it encompasses two incredible main characters that have powerful chemistry and are very deserving of their second chance at forever after; but because it had such compelling dialogue that was the perfect combination of intense moments due to the main characters back stories as well as past history and teasing banter that had me loving this couple's growing relationship, as they find their way back to each other despite the rocky start they have when they first come face-to-face.

The way this story started with the prologue sets the fast-pace of this story, as it had me sympathizing with what the heroine goes through and had me wanting to know what sort of effect what happened to Isobel had on her. How bad was her injury? However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time that made this story very intriguing, as this couple have a past that makes Vadim surly towards Isobel because of all that went wrong between them. Will Isobel be able to make things right with Vadim, so she can work with him without too much awkwardness?

As for the heroine, she's resilient and courageous with everything she's been through and I could understand why she was so stubborn when it came to her career goals and not wanting things to be over when things could be dangerous for her if she ever played professionally again. I also liked how she handled everything thrown at her and that the hero did everything he could to protect her honor. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine is the growing relationship she had with her sisters and that Harper and Violet weren't afraid to say whatever was on their minds to her, especially when it came to her relationship with Vadim.

While the hero, he has abandonment issues because of his mother and I could understand why he's not over it, even though the woman in question is back in his life. Will he ever learn the truth of why she left? Moreover, the hero is a great brother, which is proven by what he did for his sister that brought them together. I also liked his confidence when it came to his abilities as an ice hockey player and when it came to the heroine. How could she possibly say no to him? Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was how protective he was of the heroine, even if it means protecting her from herself.

Overall, Ms. Meader has delivered an outstanding read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was wonderful; the romance nicely-detailed and sizzling; and the ending had me liking how the secondary characters encouraged the heroine to make things right with Vadim after how things go awry between them. Why does Isobel have to be so stubborn? However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up perfectly, as Isobel might not have fulfilled her dream of winning the elusive gold, but she certainly got the best prize of all -- a second chance with her Mr. Right. I would recommend So Over You by Kate Meader, if you enjoy second chance romances or books by authors Kimberly Kincaid, Kelly Jamieson, Lia Riley and Sawyer Bennett.

Three estranged sisters struggle to sustain their late father’s failing hockey franchise in Kate Meader’s sizzling Chicago Rebels series. In this second entry, middle sister Isobel is at a crossroads in her personal and professional lives. But both are about to get a significant boost with the addition of a domineering Russian powerhouse to the Rebels….

Isobel Chase knows hockey. She played NCAA, won Olympic silver, and made it thirty-seven minutes into the new National Women’s Hockey League before an injury sidelined her dreams. Those who can’t, coach, and a position as a skating consultant to her late father’s hockey franchise, the Chicago Rebels, seems like a perfect fit. Until she’s assigned her first job: the man who skated into her heart as a teen and relieved her of her pesky virginity. These days, left-winger Vadim Petrov is known as the Czar of Pleasure, a magnet for puck bunnies and the tabloids alike. But back then… let’s just say his inability to sink the puck left Isobel frustratingly scoreless.

Vadim has a first name that means “ruler,” and it doesn’t stop at his birth certificate. He dominates on the ice, the practice rink, and in the backseat of a limo. But a knee injury has produced a bad year, and bad years in the NHL don’t go unrewarded. His penance? To be traded to a troubled team where his personal coach is Isobel Chase, the woman who drove him wild years ago when they were hormonal teens. But apparently the feeling was not entirely mutual.

That Vadim might have failed to give Isobel the pleasure that was her right is intolerable, and he plans to make it up to her—one bone-melting orgasm at a time. After all, no player can perfect his game without a helluva lot of practice…

“This little job is the difference between you playing and not. Dancing with the Stars, Vaddy baby. It’s where all the washed-up pros end up.”
Annoyed at his reaction to her, he skated away, throwing out over his shoulder, “I will be playing, Isobel. You will have no say in that. I spoke with Moretti—it is clear why you have this job.”
Her brow crimped. Naturally, it was adorable. “Please. Enlighten me.”
“He is new and no doubt under pressure to bow to the owners. You can write your own ticket.”
“If that’s the case, I’d just appoint myself as head coach and be done with it.”
“You are also conscious of what the fans and media think, so you are starting small. Really, you could have called or texted, Isobel. Buying my contract seems like a lot of work to bring me back into your world.”
“You weren’t my first choice. But luckily your poor play this season meant Quebec was happy to offload you.”
He ignored the brief stab. The last six months had been difficult. Isobel understood this, yet they could not resist these little cuts.
“I think you wanted to be closer to me. Just like before, right, Bella?”
A blush crept up her cheeks on hearing his endearment for her.
He would test her. Make her angry and emotional. Make her cry. Because angry, emotional criers were not the stuff of coaches. If she was serious about a career in the NHL, she would hear worse.
She would get him game fit. He would get her battle ready.
He continued to needle. “Yes, I think that must be it. It seems that the female owners of the Rebels would like to abuse their position and use the players for their personal pleasure. Your sister and Remy DuPre—that is interesting.”
“Is it?”
“Harper may have duped a Rebel player into her bed, but please don’t imagine you and I will be renewing our acquaintance in a similar manner.”
That got her attention, at last. Her creamy skin blazed, her crimson mouth twitched, and even from a distance he could see those melted-shamrock eyes darken. She looked like she wanted scream at him. Burst into tears. Slap his face.
Yes, Bella. Let us see if you can handle the barbs of every player, coach, and fan who will dismiss you. Let us see if you can handle me.
Fury powering her stride, she skated over, skidding to a halt mere inches from his face. As before, she was magnificent.
“You’ve found me out, Petrov.”
“I have?”
“It’s all an elaborate ruse. We bought your contract even though you really haven’t been performing well this season. Let’s face it, you’ve sucked donkey balls, Vadikins. But I convinced my sisters that I alone could bring you back to top condition. Make you a valuable asset to the team. I also made sure I’d be the only one working with you . . .” She leaned up on the tips of her blades, a balancing act that required great skill and remarkable ankle strength. Close enough that he could have slipped his tongue between his lips and tasted hers.
Her breath was a hot puff of temptation. “So we would have all this alone time.”
With that fiery gaze, she held his own.
Unerring.
Unflinching.
Until her mouth creased, and she broke into a laugh. He remembered that laugh. Just as before, it hit him right in the balls.
She used the edge of the iPad to poke him in the chest. “You thought I’d go to all this trouble to try to get into your hockey shorts, Petrov? I’m a team owner—I can have any of these Rebel boys with the click of my fingers!” She chuckled, clearly enjoying herself. “Despite what that supersized ego of yours thinks, the only performance I want from you is on the ice. Maybe if you spent less time carousing—”
“Carousing?”
“Yes, it’s nicer than calling you a club-hopping, vodka-sodden manwhore. Less of that and more effort on your day job, please. And don’t worry yourself that I’m interested in ‘renewing our acquaintance.’ I’ve had better lays with the Ukrainian delegation at the last Games.”
He had to say he enjoyed this sharp-tongued, quick-witted version of Isobel. But not enough to admit it to her.
“There is nothing you can teach me.”
“So sure, Russian.”
“I am positive.”
“We’ll see.” She skated back to the edge of the rink. “Again.”
