REVIEW: AND THEN FOREVER by Shirley Jump

In And Then Forever by Shirley Jump, Darcy Williams has always wondered, whether she made a mistake years ago. When she allowed her ex-lover's father to manipulate her, into signing a contract that denied her daughter so much. When Kincaid walks back into her life, she realizes that the secret she's kept from him could cost her everything, if he learns the truth.

Having never read any of this author's books, I didn't know what to expect, but I absolutely enjoyed And Then Forever. The plot was well-written, the main and secondary characters strongly developed, and combined with a dialogue that made me feel every emotion as Kincaid and Darcy experienced them, there was not one moment, where I wanted to put this book down.

As for the sex scenes, they were perfect where they were in the story. Darcy and Kincaid needed to find their way back to each other, before they explored the undeniable chemistry that was still between them after so many years apart. What I liked so much about the heroine was that she finally admitted the truth, even knowing the unpleasant consequences that could arise. While with the hero, I loved that once he learned about his daughter, he wanted the opportunity to get to know her. Instead of threatening to take his daughter away from the only parent she's ever known.

Overall, this was a really good contemporary romance, that delivered a wonderful past lovers reunited story. I would recommend it to readers that enjoy a story, where when secrets are exposed, they can reunite past lovers and help them realize there's nothing better than love that lasts forever.

Welcome to Fortune’s Island, where the only rule is to follow your heart.

Love is an extravagance Darcy Williams can’t afford. She prefers the simple life, which includes waitressing at The Love Shack and avoiding temptation. But when a forbidden part of her past steps off the ferry, her safe, guarded existence is turned upside down.

Kincaid Foster has never gotten over his first love. When he sees the wild, beautiful blonde again, dancing her way around The Love Shack, the memories of Darcy’s soft skin, gentle touch, and heated kisses come rushing back. As the privileged son of a wealthy family, Kincaid was too young to stand up to his overbearing father when he and Darcy were together. Now, he’s back on the island—free of the family shackles—and the chiseled, big-time lawyer wants a second chance.

But, Darcy made a promise to keep a secret from Kincaid—a secret that is now a six-year-old girl who looks just like her daddy. If Kincaid finds out about their daughter, Darcy could lose everything. But, she can’t resist the man who stole her heart all those years ago. And it doesn’t take long before both of them realize that anything can happen on a hot summer night.
