In Wardrobe Malfunction by Samantha Towle, being a wardrobe assistant for a movie where Vaughn West is the primary male star would be a dream come true for any woman. But for Charlotte 'Charly' Michaels, it's a living nightmare with Vaughn making her feel like she's a schoolgirl with a crush, prone to doing the stupidest things. Too bad Vaughn has sworn off women while the movie is being made, and Charly has every reason not to get involved with him. Yet, the more time they spend together, the more Charly finds herself falling in love. But how can they be together when Charly is hiding a big secret; a secret that could destroy their chance at happy ever after?
Ms. Towle is a new-to-me author whose books I'm finally glad to have read beginning with this one. Because this romantic comedy was an amazing read that I loved from start to finish, due to the wonderful main characters that face some tough obstacles, the well-written dialogue that had me alternating between laughing and crying, and the fast-paced plot that really flew by until I couldn't believe how quickly I was at the end. Really, this story was addictive and I loved the way it started with what happens to Vaughn, which sends him into a downward spiral until someone finds a way to help him.
As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories. Charly lost those she loved growing up, and the only family she has is her best friend; a guy she would do anything for, which is proven by the secret she's keeping. However, there were so many good light-hearted moments that had me laughing or smiling, especially the moment Vaughn and Charly met for the first time in this story and what the heroine does to him, because he makes her nervous. Luckily, Vaughn finds it within himself to forgive her and can tease her about that moment throughout.
Charly is strong, brave and she's accomplished a lot in her life, considering all that she's been through with losing her mom the way she did. She's also hard-working and I loved learning more about her and how passionate she is for all things fashion. While Vaughn, he's been through a lot in his life too. What his ex-best friend and ex-girlfriend did was unforgivable, but I liked that he managed to pull himself back from the brink of total destruction when it came to his career. Yet, what I liked most was the close relationship he had with his family and how easily they accepted Charly, because it's palpable how much he cares for the heroine.
Overall, Ms. Towle totally impressed me with this book where the scorching sex scenes illustrated the strong chemistry these two had from the moment they met superbly. The way this story ended brought tears to my eyes, because of Vaughn's reaction to Charly's secret. Why couldn't he understand that she had her reasons for doing what she did to help a friend? However, in saying that, I liked that Vaughn listened to a certain secondary character's advice in making things right with Charly, as they're a couple meant-to-be and nothing should be able to keep them apart. Then there's the epilogue which wraps this story up nicely, and Vaughn's speech was absolutely heart-warming. It goes to show that Charly means everything to him. I would recommend Wardrobe Malfunction by Samantha Towle, if you enjoy books with plenty of heat or if you enjoy reading books by Alessandra Torre, Vi Keeland or Penelope Ward.

BLURB:
From New York Times bestselling author, Samantha Towle, comes a new standalone romantic comedy.
Vaughn West, Hollywood heartthrob, has been at the top of his game for years. He thinks he’s untouchable—until a betrayal brings him spiraling down. Now, everyone pities him, and if there’s one thing Vaughn hates, it’s pity.
After a few months of working his way through every available actress, pop star, model, and waitress in California, Vaughn needs to get his life back on track and focus on what he does best—making hit movies.
Charlotte Michaels is in love. Just not with one person.
Louis Vuitton…
Christian Dior…
Valentino…
Gucci…
And the list goes on.
Sadly, Charly’s limited bank account doesn’t allow her those luxuries, and the closest she gets are lucky finds in charity shops and working closely with some of those names in her job as a wardrobe assistant.
Now, Charly has landed the mother of all jobs—working on the new Vaughn West movie. Excited doesn’t even cut it.
Only things don’t go as planned, and it turns out that Vaughn is actually a jerk. A hot jerk, but a jerk nonetheless.
So, why do their clothes keep falling off whenever they’re around each other? And why can’t Charly keep her mind in the closet and off Vaughn?
Getting mixed up with a smart-mouthed, fashion-obsessed wardrobe assistant is the last thing Vaughn needs.
Getting mixed up with an arrogant, self-centered, obnoxious, jumped-up actor who has a lack of respect for fashion is the last thing Charly needs.
Things are about to get hot, dirty, and messy in Hollywood. Very messy. Especially if Charly’s closely guarded secret falls out of her closet.
