BLOG TOUR - REVIEW: BLIND LOVE by KELLY ELLIOTT

Blind Love
Cowboys & Angels #5
By Kelly Elliott
Releasing July 24th, 2018
Self-Published

Harley and I had our whole lives planned out, until her plans changed, and those plans didn't include me. After years spent trying to get the love of my life out of my head and repair my too-damaged heart, I thought I was finally moving on…but life sure has a funny way of letting you know when those best-laid plans are about to be turned upside down.

My entire world was rocked when Harley unexpectedly moved back to Oak Springs. Every miserable moment I'd spent trying to get over her and every hour I'd wasted trying to erase her from my life came back to haunt me the minute she walked into my office, fear in her eyes, and asked me for help.

Would I…or better yet, could I walk away from her this time after all that she had put me through? What I really needed to know is would I be able to forge ahead with the future I had so meticulously planned—one that didn't include Harley—or will her return finally open my eyes to a future full of endless possibilities?   Blind Love is book five in the Cowboys and Angels series.

In Blind Love (Cowboys & Angels #5) by Kelly Elliott, Tripp thought he and Harley were going to be together forever. He had plans for the pair's future until she broke his heart. Over the years, Harley's done her best to find a way to get Tripp to talk to her, but it seems all hope is lost since he wants nothing to do with her. However, when Harley needs someone to help her, Tripp steps up. Will Tripp be able to fully forgive Harley or will Tripp walk away before Harley can hurt him again?

This series is such an enjoyable one and again Ms. Elliott has delivered a fantastic second chance romance story where the hero is a total jerk in the beginning, but definitely had me warming up to him once he realized he was fighting a losing battle when it came to Harley; the heroine was relatable and likeable from the start and had me loving her determination to gain back Tripp's love and trust, even though there are times when it feels like she's losing the battle; and the dialogue was absolutely engaging and had me liking the tight friendships and family bonds the main characters share with the secondary ones.

As for the dialogue, it was well-written and enthralling since there's so much tension between Harley and Tripp. Will he be able to forgive Harley for what she did in the past? Moreover, the dialogue was a wonderful combination of intense moments due to the main characters back stories and history and playful banter that had me loving the matchmaking of the hero's mother and the ever reasonable understanding and support the Parker siblings give to each other. Really, they don't know the meaning of 'keep your nose out of other people's business'. Still, they're a lot of fun, especially when they're all together.

With the main characters, I loved their past history and the way it sets the fast pace of this story. Really, it had me reading quickly, determined to discover what it would take to get Tripp to forgive Harley and how long it would take him to let go of his anger and hurt. Moreover, I liked how the hero struggles to deal with his feelings because Harley will always be the love of his life but she hurt him badly. Yet, in saying that, I did get a little frustrated with him at times and was ready to shout 'make up your mind already' when it came to the women in his life. While the heroine, she's resilient, courageous and I liked how determined she is to make things right with Tripp, even though the hero doesn't make things easy for her. I also enjoyed the uphill battle the heroine faced when it came to something important to her. Would things turn out all right?

Overall, Ms. Elliott has delivered a delightful read in this book where emotions run high; the chemistry between this couple was powerful; the romance was well worth the wait and had me loving this couple together; and the ending was delightful because of how things turn out for Tripp and Harley together with the news Tripp discovers. I would recommend Blind Love by Kelly Elliott, if you enjoy the second chance romance trope, the enemy to lovers trope or books by authors Melanie Harlow, Vi Keeland, Penelope Ward and Corinne Michaels.
