REVIEW: FOREVER DEEP by KIMBERLY KINCAID

Forever Deep
Station Seventeen #3.5
By Kimberly Kincaid
Releasing November 6th, 2017
Self-Published

In Forever Deep (Station Seventeen #3.5) by Kimberly Kincaid, asking Isabella Moreno to marry him is the hardest thing he's ever had to do, but once Kellan Walker takes the chance he couldn't be happier. However, when Detective Isabella Moreno learns of a case that has similarities to the murder of someone that was very important to her, Isabella is determined to finally get justice. Will Isabella finally be able to close the case that has haunted her for years, or will the killer she's hunting get away again?

I've read about ten novellas this year, but this is the best by far. Not only because it's a follow-up to Skin Deep, the very entertaining first novel of this series for Ms. Kincaid, but because it has readers re-visiting two of the most incredible characters of Station Seventeen and the other emergency services they work alongside. The way this story started had my sympathizing with the heroine, as she's worried about her relationship with Kellan. Is there something going on with him? However, it was from the moment Isabella learnt about the tie of a recent homicide linked to her cousin's cold case that made this story a total page turner, as Isabella needs closure.

As for the dialogue, it was compelling, flowed really well, intense due to the investigation into the murder, takes readers on a emotional journey from Isabella's point-of-view,  and was a story I could not get enough of. So much so that I had this novella finished in under an hour. Moreover, Isabella is resilient; tenacious in her pursuit of the killer; and I liked how far she was willing to go to get closure, even if it meant going against orders. While Kellan, I liked how supportive he was of Isabella and her determination to finally put the past to rest and get justice for her cousin.

Overall, Ms. Kincaid has penned a fantastic and enthralling read in this novella for her Station Seventeen series where the chemistry between this couple is as strong as ever; and the ending had me so happy because of what Kellan does right at the end because he can't wait for Isabella to be totally his; and how everything turned out for the case Isabella and her team were investigating. What a way to get a confession! I would recommend Forever Deep by Kimberly Kincaid, if you're looking for a quick read or books by authors Avery Flynn, Scarlett Cole, Pamela Clare and Lynn Raye Harris.

Firefighter Kellan Walker lives for two things: his fiancée and his family at Station Seventeen. But when a case surfaces with ties to Isabella’s past, he knows he’ll do anything to help her solve it—even if that means breaking all the rules.

With days to go before her Christmas wedding, Detective Isabella Moreno should be enjoying the happiest time of her life. But there’s a ruthless killer on the loose, and she’s been waiting far too long to serve justice.

As Kellan and Isabella team up for one last case, the stakes get higher at every turn. Will they outwit the murderer who has haunted Isabella’s nightmares in time to make it down the aisle to their happily ever after? Or do their fears run too deep?

PLEASE NOTE: This novella is an extension of the first book in the Station Seventeen series, SKIN DEEP. While neither story contains cliffhangers, this novella does contain references to SKIN DEEP that could be considered spoilers. It is highly recommended that readers enjoy SKIN DEEP before curling up with FOREVER DEEP. All of the full-length novels in the Station Seventeen series stand alone, with no spoilers, no cliffhangers, and all HEAs.
