In On the Plus Side (A Perfect Fit #2) by Alison Bliss, Valerie Carmichael is a woman that knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. However, her brother's best friend, Logan Mathis, proves quite a challenge until she finds a way to help him at his new business venture. Still, he's determined to deny the intense chemistry between them until he finds it impossible to resist her. Except, Valerie has been holding some very important information back from Logan, and when he learns the truth it could ruin their relationship. Will Valerie find a way to keep Logan in her life, or will her error in judgment cost her the man she's always loved?

Having enjoyed the first book of this series, I couldn't wait to read this one, and I've got to say that I loved this story a lot. Valerie is quite an exceptional character with her I-go-after-what-I-want personality and had me hooked from the very beginning. Yet, she became so much more intriguing once she comes face-to-face with Logan for the first time in this book. However, it was from the moment where she butt heads with Logan and his accusations that this story really takes off, because she won't take no for an answer when he needs someone to help him out.

The dialogue was riveting and so to were the main characters, due to their back stories and the obstacles they face such as an overbearing big brother that doesn't seem to let Valerie do anything without his approval, Logan believing their relationship isn't a good idea and the lie Valerie has told that could get Logan in trouble. However, the dialogue wasn't all intense due to these reasons. There was also plenty of playful banter, as Valerie is sassy, confident and I liked how much of a challenge she provides Logan. She's not about to give up on him giving them a chance, even when there are times she's contemplating giving up because he's determined to choose friendship over happiness.

While Logan, he's an absolutely fabulous hero and I could understand why he's hesitant to get involved with Valerie. His friendship with her brother is important, no matter how much he wants Valerie and his nickname for her reminds him of how important until it's impossible to continue to fight his feelings. However, I'm glad that when he decided to give a relationship between them a chance that he was all in. I also liked how kind and caring he is and his determination to help his mother because he's not about to let her lose everything just because of his jerk of a father.

Overall, Ms. Bliss has penned a really good read in this book where the chemistry was off-the-charts due to Logan's determination to resist Valerie and Valerie's persistence in pursuing the hero. Then there's the romance itself, which was sizzling due to the list Logan believes are all the things Valerie wants to do with a man she's in a relationship with. The way this story ended had me cheering for this couple's happy ever after, as they had a few obstacles to overcome. Will Logan give Valerie another chance when her lie could have cost him everything he's worked hard for? Will Logan be able to convince Valerie's brother that he loves her so much that their being together was worth the risk of losing his and her brother's friendship? I would recommend On the Plus Side by Alison Bliss, if you enjoy the brother's best friend trope or books by authors Gina L. Maxwell, Penny Reid, Sarina Bowen or Lauren Blakely.

BLURB
The second book in a laugh-out-loud new contemporary romance series from Alison Bliss!

Big girls don't cry. They go after what they want.

Thanks to her bangin' curves, Valerie Carmichael has always turned heads-with the exception of seriously sexy Logan Mathis. Just Valerie's luck that the object of her lust-filled affection is also best friends with her overprotective brother. But Valerie's determined to get Logan's attention . . . even if it means telling a teeny little lie to get a job at his new bar.

Logan can't remember a time when Valerie didn't secretly fuel all his hottest fantasies. Now the curvaceous she-devil is working behind his bar, tempting him every damn night. It's only when he finds Valerie's naughty things-to-do list that Logan decides to break every rule in the book-by making each red-hot deed a reality.

No one warned them that they were going to fall this hard. And no one warned them that sometimes the smallest secrets can have the biggest consequences.
