REVIEW: HIS UNBEARABLE TOUCH by REINA TORRES

His Unbearable Touch
Orsino Security #2
By Reina Torres
Releasing October 24th, 2017
Self-Published

In His Unbearable Touch (Orsino Security #2) by Reina Torres, with his older brother happily mated, Valerio Orsino is hoping for his own happy ever after. So, when he comes across a woman in need of help and discovers she's his mate, Valerio will do anything to prove to her that she's the woman he's been searching his whole life for. But when a threat from Allegra's past brings trouble for their future, will Valerio be able to protect Allegra or will they lose their shot at happy ever after?

Just like her other books, Ms. Torres again takes readers on an emotional but captivating journey in this second book of her Orsino Security series, which entertained me right from start due to the main characters back stories; everything they go through on their journey to happy ever after; and the way this story started that had me completely hooked as the hero comes to the heroine's rescue. Certainly, he's her knight in shining armor with what he saves her from.

As for the dialogue, it was a wonderful combination of intense moments and teasing banter between the hero and heroine as well as between the main and secondary characters that made this story a real page turner and had me charmed by the Orsino brothers just as much as Valerio and Allegra. Furthermore, the main characters were compelling; their chemistry and romance tantalizing and had me cheering for this couple's happy ever after; and I absolutely loved their back stories, especially that of the heroine with all that she's been through because of her ex. She's strong and brave in being able to continue on the way she has and doing the best to live life with her disability, even if it did take her a while to finally get back to the things she loved.

While the hero, he's confident, strong and I liked how protective he was of the heroine and his determination to win the heroine over. Then again, how could Allegra not immediately put her trust in a man that comes to her aid when no one else would? I also liked the tight bond he shares with his brothers and I liked that he was willing to stand up to his older brother Salvatore when it came to his mate and their relationship. Because he needed to win her complete trust  and not push her into a relationship that she might not be ready for since he's a shifter and she's his mate.

Overall, Ms. Torres has penned a really good read in this book where the ending had me concerned for one of the main characters and worried how far the hero would go to keep Allegra safe. However, in saying that, Valerio definitely makes it safer for Allegra by the lengths he goes to, so she doesn't have to worry about her past being a threat anymore. Yet, what I liked most of all about the ending is how things worked out for Valerio and Allegra, as she's his mate and he will do anything to make sure she's happy forever and never alone again. I would recommend His Unbearable Touch by Reina Torres, if you enjoy paranormal romance or books by authors Milly Taiden, Eve Langlais, Celia Kyle and Eliza Gayle.

She was a woman who lived in the dark – She brought light into his lonely world – If he lost her, he’d lose more than just his heart, he may lose the rest of his humanity.

Ten years ago, Bear Shifter Valerio Orsino followed his heart and moved from Italy to America searching for his mate. There was one moment when he felt as though he’d come so very close, only to have the feeling slip away like a ghost, and so he stayed hoping that Fate would play his hand. His brothers followed him to NY and now, his older brother, Salvatore, is happily mated. Valerio feels her presence again, and even if his younger brother scoffs at the idea, everyone else encourages him to look again. An odd twist of fate puts him in the right place to be a hero, but unlike the countless times he has assisted other people, the woman he finds in his arms just may save him… the curvy beauty is his mate, his love, his destiny… and she’s blind.

Allegra Rossetti has lived in darkness for nearly a decade. After a vicious attack left her blind and withdrawn, she gave up on her music and enjoying life. As time went on, the music that lived in her heart would not be denied and she made the decision to step back into the world outside of her apartment building, if only to share her music with others. It took every ounce of her courage to step outside, to breathe the crisp fall air of Central Park, and trust that this time around life wouldn’t be so cruel to her.

A careless error by an overzealous friend puts Allegra in danger and when she’s pulled from one unexpected embrace into another, she is astonished at her reaction. Jealousy took her sight and left her with a fear of intimacy, but with Valerio she finds herself reaching out instead of pulling away.

A vengeful heart threatens to pull them apart and extinguish her light forever. Could Valerio lose what has taken him a lifetime to find? Will Allegra trust him enough to take the leap?
