In Temptation and Treachery (Dangerous Desires #3) by Sahara Roberts, nothing and no-one has been able to distract ICE agent Andres 'Rio' Rivera from his mission of taking down the bad guys. However, sharing a hotel room with Celeste Patron after a cancelled flight brings about feelings he never imagined he'd have for a woman. Yet, after going their separate ways and Rio discovering that Celeste is the daughter of the mob boss he's after, will she be able to forgive him for coming back into her life the way he does or will her secret keep them apart?

When I read the blurb to this book I was expecting a bit more action and a bit more suspense, but instead this story was shorter in length than I expected, which was a bit disheartening. Then there was the way this story started, which had me a tad confused when it came to the heroine. Why couldn't she just be herself instead of an alter ego when she blogged? However, I did enjoy the moment the hero and heroine met. Certainly, their playful banter had me smiling, because the hero knows what the heroine was doing.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories and everything the heroine goes through, which is proven because of what she goes through due to who her father is and those that are determined to come out on top by using Celeste. Will Celeste and her father realize what's going on before it's too late? Yet, I didn't warm up to either main character completely until they both found out the truth about in each other, which leads to Celeste believing she'd been tricked by Rio. Did he meet her because of who her father is? While the hero, I loved how much the fallout affected him when it came to Celeste believing he betrayed her, as he has to work very hard to get back in her good graces because the heroine isn't all that forgiving. I also liked how dedicated the hero was to his job and the lengths he was willing to go to for Celeste when it came to her family situation and the touch of danger she faces because of it.

Overall, I did like this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance hot; and the ending had me sympathizing with the heroine because of what happens with her family. I also enjoyed how things ended for this couple, as Celeste needed Rio in her life, especially when she had no-one else to turn to for protection. Something that she'd desperately need after what happened to her father who has been protecting her all her life. I would recommend Temptation and Treachery by Sahara Roberts, if you're looking for a quick read; and if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Samanthe Beck, Rebecca Brooks, Julie Particka and Brooklyn Skye.

Andres “Rio” Rivera became his ICE profile years ago. Cold and calculating, he never promises anything beyond right now. But when he ends up with a cancelled flight and a shared hotel room with the secretive Celeste Patron, the fire behind Celeste’s buttoned-up exterior melts every barrier. He may only have her for one night, but that’s long enough to make her every fantasy come true.

When Celeste leaves, Rio returns to hunting a notorious cartel leader. His shock upon arresting the man is eclipsed when he discovers the woman he fell for is his daughter...and she's pregnant with Rio's baby.
