In Brazilian Capture (The Brazilians #2) by Carmen Falcone, Emanuel Duarte has his mind set on one thing and one thing only and that is to take down real estate developer Silas Lancaster. Yet, to do that he needs to kidnap the one person that means everything to Silas and force him to swap his daughter, Erika, for the one witness who can testify to Silas Lancaster's wrong-doings. However, there's just one problem. He finds himself falling for the enemy's daughter. Will he be able to convince Erika to give him a chance after all he puts her through, or will the fact that he's trying to take down her father mean they'll never have a shot at happy ever after?
If you've never read a book by Ms. Falcone, you're seriously missing out on some good reading, especially when it comes to romantic suspense and this series, as the heroes are sexy, the stories are well-written and the plots are so intriguing and captivating that I find I can not put the books down. The way this story started had me liking both the main characters immediately, even though what the hero is doing to the heroine is wrong and he's unrepentant because he feels what he's doing is for the greater good. Will the hero be able to convince the heroine that her father is a bad man?
As for the dialogue, it had me hooked and I loved every moment of it, as the heroine provides quite a challenge for the hero. No way will she make things easy for him and who could blame her when he kidnapped her. Seriously, the heroine is strong, brave and I liked how she stands up to the hero and is determined to use any means necessary to escape. Will she manage to slip her captive's hold? I also liked how passionate she is about her mother's legacy and and I could sympathize with her when it came to believing she may lose it, if her father is declared a criminal. While the hero, I absolutely loved him. He's driven, hard-working and I liked how far he was willing to go to protect the heroine, even though her father is the enemy. Still, he had to remember that she's innocent and doesn't deserve to suffer for her father's wrong-doings. I also liked how determined he was to prove to the heroine that what he was telling her was true, especially when the truth is proven by the trouble they face.
Overall, Ms. Falcone has delivered a really engaging read in this book where this couple's chemistry was off-the-charts, the main characters were incredible and the ending left me smiling, because the heroine was determined to learn the truth, even if it ruined everything she'd worked so hard for when it came to her mother's legacy. However, it was the epilogue that I was absolutely charmed by, because the hero knows what he wants and I loved the surprise he had for Erika. I would recommend Brazilian Capture by Carmen Falcone, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope, the sexy protector trope or books by authors Julie Rowe, Tee O'Fallon, Tessa Bailey or Tonya Burrows.

I so enjoy this author's books. A Vengeful Affair was the first of Carmen Falcone's that I read. What a wonderful read it was.
